Chapter 18: Suga

"Suga hyung, mianhe, mianhe! We're late but we brought you your lunch!"

The studio door bursts open, making me jump so badly that my headphones slip off my head a bit.

I've been working in the Bangtan Boys' personal studio for the past hour or so, trying to figure out how to use their equipment and making a few adjustments to the chord progression and drum loops. The bass line is still a bit weak for my liking, but I'm not sure how to make it stronger.

"Omo! That's not Suga hyung!"

Swiveling around to face to door, I almost choke when I see all the Bangtan Boys crowded around the studio doorway, looking at me with wide eyes.

"Annyeong-haseo, Bangtan sunbaenims," I smile and wave sheepishly. The boys look from me to Suga, who is somehow still fast asleep, and back to me.

I can only imagine what kind of thoughts are racing through their minds right now.

"Annyeong-haseo, Mi-young!" Jungkook returns my wave happily from behind J-Hope and V, "did Suga invite you here?"

"Aniya. He doesn't even know I'm here, actually." I laugh and explain how I was sent to Big Hit by JYP to work on my music and ended up having to use the Bangtan Boys' studio. As I speak, the boys begin to look less confused and more friendly.

"Aish, typical of Suga to be asleep like this" Jin grins and shakes his head,

"He's been working non-stop on a song of his lately, so please excuse us for making you take care of him like this. I see you also cleaned up this huge mess of a studio, so thank you for that as well."

It's now my turn to shake my head, and I briefly turn back to my laptop to press pause on the track I've been considering sampling before replying to Jin.

"Aniya, I've hardly done anything for Suga sunbaenim that's worth being thanked for. I actually should be the one thanking you all for allowing me to use your studio."

Jimin and Namjoon smirk a bit at my words then look to Suga, still sleeping soundly on the couch, making me wonder if there's something I missed out on.

"Well, while you're here, there's something you can actually help us all out with." J-Hope's eyes crinkle in a mischievous smile.

"Yah, I already cleaned the studio though, J-Hope sunbaenim!" I pretend to pout, prompting laughter from the boys.

"We promise it won't involve doing any more chores for us." J-Hope winks, "All you need to do is agree to spend some extra time with us from now on."

Huh? The Bangtan Boys want me to spend more time with them?

"Wae?" I involuntarily ask with furrowed brows, then add,

"Ah, I mean I don't particularly mind, but why?"

The boys exchange knowing glances with one another as Jungkook explains with a grin,

"We'd just like to have you around, Mi-young. You have an obvious passion for dancing and music, just like us, so naturally, we'd want to get to know you better right? Besides, I feel like we could all benefit from having a new face around here."

"Jinjjyayo?" My eyes widen in surprise as I process Jungkook's words.

Andwae...the Bangtan Boys really want to get to know a rookie like me who hasn't even debuted yet?

V, who has been silent the entire time, takes the lollipop he's been eating and points it at me with calm eyes as if he's about to shoot me with it. I play along, gasping and clutching my chest with wide eyes.
