"Wow. That uh..." Matthew's words trailed off in shock. He was starting to have a really bad feeling about how his next match was going to go. Hado turned to him with an apprehensive smile and thumbs up, doing her best to offer some kind of condolences.

"Good luck, Matthew! You're gonna need it..." she muttered the last part, having to avert her gaze as she did so.

"Thanks..." The two had just watched Kouya eliminate Yamaoka in quite literally 5 seconds. She raised her hand, sand exploded everywhere, and Yamaoka was sent flying out of bounds. "So, remind me again who you're going up against?"

"Kenranzaki, I think? The girl with the cables, blonde with the big eyelashes."

"Right, sounds pretty easy for you. Your quirk should be able to overpower those no problem."

"Sure, but apparently support students are allowed to bring their gear of choice into these. For all I know she's got a big quirk vacuum or something stupid like that."

"I'm sure they're regulating what they can bring in, like I don't think they're letting anyone bring that tank you mentioned someone built earlier."

Hado crossed her arms on the table in front of her and rested her head on them with a yawn. "Yeah, you're right. Even if something like that happens its not like I have time to worry about it anyways, I'm up in 5 minutes after all."

"Mhm.." Matthew simply nodded and continued to teeter back and forth in his chair. Not like there was much else to do in those waiting rooms.

Hado watched him for a moment before exaggerating a yawn, stretching and laying back down on the table. "Man my shoulders are stiff, if only there was some way I could alleviate it before my match!"

"You can just ask normally, y'know..." Matthew said with a chuckle, making his way behind Hado. "Just warning ya, I'm not a professional."

     "Meh, don't care."

Matthew gently flipped Hado's hair over her shoulder and got to work, a small smile on his face. He was pretty curious as to whether her shoulders were actually stiff, but it wasn't like it really mattered. He lived for these little moments between them... No harm in teasing her a little though. "Did you really need a massage, or did you just want one?"

"Both, carrying these around all day is hard y'know." She said, gesturing to her chest.

     "..."

     "..."

"I don't really know how I'm supposed to respond to that, to be honest."

"...my bad." The awkward silence lingered for a short while, Hado internally cringing at herself. "Y-you're pretty good at this...!" she sputtered, desperate to fill the quiet.

     "You think so?"

"Mhm, I wouldn't mind this kind of thing more often..."

"I'll start practicing then." They remained like this for a moment longer, Midnight's voice interrupting the silence.

"Competitors Hado and Kenranzaki, to the arena!"

Hado stood up and turned to face Matthew with a smile. "Well, off to the gallows!"

"Oh, you'll be fine." Matthew reached a hand up and flicked her in the forehead. "For good luck."

"Oh my god, you are so cheesy!" Despite her words, a blush spread across her face.
