Harry could feel the air crackling with tension as he stood face to face with Draco in the dimly lit common room. The familiar scent of old parchment and candle wax hung in the air, but it felt suffocating amidst the silent storm brewing between us. Harry sat on the edge of a black leather couch, his face etched with frustration and worry. Across from him, Draco Malfoy leaned back with a cold, distant expression.

"Draco, please," Harry implored, his voice thick with emotion. "I just want to understand what's going on with you. You've been so distant lately."

Draco's eyes flashed with defiance. "I don't owe you any explanations, Harry."

"But you do," Harry insisted, inching closer. "We're supposed to be in this together. I'm here for you, but you're shutting me out."

A bitter laugh escaped Draco's lips, the sound like a sharp, mocking echo in the room. "You've always been so naive, Potter. Thinking love can fix everything."

"It's not about fixing everything," Harry said, his voice rising with desperation. "It's about facing things together, whatever they may be."

Draco's sneer softened into a pained grimace. "You don't understand, Harry. You can't understand."

"Then make me understand," Harry urged, reaching out to grasp Draco's hand. "I can't stand seeing you like this."

Draco's eyes glistened with a mixture of frustration and vulnerability. "I... I can't. It's too complicated."

Harry's heart ached at the raw honesty in Draco's voice. "Let me in, Draco. Please," he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. Draco jerked away as Harry reached for his wrist, a pained grimace twisting his features. "Don't touch me," he hissed through gritted teeth.

Confusion clouded Harry's eyes as he looked down to see a hint of the dark mark peeking out from Draco's sleeve. "No..." Harry whispered, his voice filled with disbelief and hurt. "Draco, is this... is this real?"

Draco's jaw clenched as he avoided Harry's gaze, unable to deny the truth.

"Draco, please," Harry's voice cracked, his heart pounding in his chest. "Tell me this is a joke. Tell me you didn't... that you don't..."

But the look in Draco's eyes confirmed the painful truth, and Harry stumbled back, shaking his head in denial. "I can't... I can't believe this," he choked out, his chest constricting with betrayal and anguish.

Draco's grey eyes brimmed with anguish as he shook his head, unable to meet Harry's gaze. "I didn't have a choice, Harry. You have to believe me."

A choked sob caught in Harry's throat as he stumbled backward, the weight of betrayal heavy in his heart. Without another word, he turned and fled from the common room, his footsteps echoing with anguish.
