Jason's pov
She sips coffee. I have to get going for some shows I have in the next town over. I wonder if my truck is close to being done. He's working on it right now.
Miranda's pov
He and my stepdad talk a little. It is hilarious how worried he is about my parents. He nods and tips his hat than walks over to me. "Well, I gotta get to some shows. Ya ready to go?" He asks. I smile. "You just automatically assume I'm going with?" I ask, jokingly. He looks super confused. "Well I figured-" I start laughing. "Jason, I was messing with you." I say. Relief in his eyes. Red in his cheeks. "You're blushing again." I say. He gets even redder. "I'll see ya later mom!" I call. "When do ya think you'll be back?" She asks, walking in the room. "I don't know whenever." I mutter, setting my cup down.
Jason's pov
She hugs her mom and goes to get ready. "You keep her in line." She says, looking worried. "What's wrong?" I ask. "She's just a wild girl." She says with a sigh. I head down to her room where she's in the shower. "Is someone in here?" She calls. "It's just me." I call back. "Thank goodness. I forgot to get a towel. Do ya mind runnin' up and gettin' me one?" "I'm on my way." I run upstairs and her mom has one waiting. Ok, confused? She hands it to me with a laugh. What is going on here? I walk back downstairs and hand it to her. She gets dressed and packed and I borrow her step dad's truck again. "It was really weird. It was like your mom knew you needed a towel. She already had one waiting." I say. "Oh, yeah. I usually forget to grab a towel." She mumbles. Why do I get the feeling that's not the truth? Whatever. The rest of the drive is pretty conversationless. I pull up where I'm supposed to play. Then I remember Luke will be here too. Along with Tyler, Brad, and Tim. They are so gonna mess with me. "Who's on this tour?" She asks, getting out and linking her arm with mine. ""Luke, Tyler, Brad, and Tim. Get ready because here they come and they always make fun of me when I'm with a girl." I say. "Oh, they're just jealous." She scoffs. I smile. Luke and Tyler arrive. "Hey man, who's the lady?" Luke asks. "This is my girlfriend Miranda. I'm sure you know the guys." I say. She nods. "Ok, man. Don't let her drive you redneck crazy." Tyler says and laughs. I try not to let him get to me. She goes into the crowd and we go backstage. "How long have you two been going out?" Luke asks. "I just met her yesterday." I say, grabbing a beer. "So you haven't gotten lucky yet?" Tyler says. I smirk. "Actually I have." I reply. They both look shocked. "Wow, one day! That's a new record!" Luke gapes. I smile and nod. Tyler goes out to play so it's just me and Luke. "So, do you love her?" He asks. "Can we please stop talking about it?" I gripe. "Fine, just curious." He says, opening his own beer. "I'm the kind that shows up at your house at 3 AM! I'm gonna shine my headlights into your bedroom window. I'm gonna throw empty beer cans at both your shadows. I didn't come here to start a fight but I'm up for anything tonight. You know you gone and broke the wrong heart baby, and drove me redneck crazy!" I hear Tyler singing. He's hooked on that song. "Remind me never to get that nuts over a girl." Luke says. I laugh. "What about Caroline? You'd totally flip if that girl dumped you." I say, pointing at him. "Oh yeah. Too late then." He says, laughing. "Hey Jason, it's your girl." I look over. "Hey guys, it's okay, let her through." I call. The guards let her by. "What's up baby?" "Stupid drunks out in the crowd hitting on me." She mutters. She sits beside me on the couch. "What are you boys talkin' about?" She asks. "Oh nothin'." Luke says, shooting me a grin. "Don't you dare!" I mouth to Luke. He just laughs. He better not be thinking about what I think he's thinking about. "So you and Jason are going out now?" He semi asks. Shit. She nods. "Don't listen to him honey, he's just tryin' to mess with ya." I say. "Well you need to be initiated into our group." Luke continues. "Shut up Luke, I'm not listening to you." She says. I smirk. "Oh come on girl, prove you have what it takes. Prove you ain't a chicken." He taunts. Crap. Her eyes light up in anger. "Nobody calls me chicken!" She growls, standing up, her hands in fists. "Baby, he's only tryin' to mess with ya." I say, grabbing her arm. I throw my beer can at Luke. He dodges it. "What do I have to do?" She asks. Darn it! "Don't you dare Luke!" I growl. "Spend the weekend in the woods with Jason. Test your relationship, ya know." He says. "Damn you Luke. I dislike you very much right now." I grumble. He just laughs. "So you up for the challenge?" He asks. She shakes her head. "I don't need to prove shit to you jealous little pricks." She snaps. Damn, didn't see that coming. "She just couldn't make it. That's why." He scoffs. Now I can tell she's getting pissed. She walks over to him. What's about to happen? "Hey Luke," She says sweetly. I'm confused. He's confused. "What?" He asks, eying her nervously. "Good luck performing with your balls in your gut!" She shouts, kicking him in the nuts! He goes down instantly. "Call me a chicken one more God damned time, you'll need surgery." She warns. "Hot Damn!" I cry, shocked. She smiles and dusts her hands off. "Baby, that was... That was freaking awesome!" She smiles and sits back down on the couch and I do the same. "Don't fuck with my ninja girl." I tell Luke. "Ya don't have to tell me twice." He mumbles, laying on the ground. I laugh like crazy and then she kisses me. I wrap my arms around her waist, pulling her close to me and deepening the kiss. This girl is definitely a keeper.
