Chapter 27

I slammed closed the hundred year old book in frustration, probably not the best way to treat it. But I just couldn't hear my thoughts. The storm was really annoying me. With the loud heavy raindrops against the glass window panels, the sudden flashes of lightning and the loud crashes of thunder considering we were pretty high up, it wasn't the best time to enjoy a book.

I nearly got a fright when a really bright flash of white followed with a booming thunderclap. 'Hellooo?' I called out, I thought I heard a noise after that. 'Anybody?' I looked around but the room was empty but me. For your information, I was in one of the guest bedrooms. It was pretty big, along with a large walk-in closet and a lavish bathroom.

After a while, I just shrugged it off. It was probably just my imagination. It was just me. Alone. I got off the couch and climbed into the bed, resting my head onto the soft pillow and pulling the thick covers to my chin. The lights automatically dimmed, but the lightnings casted long eerie shadows on the marble floor.

I closed my eyes and was slowly drifting off into a slumber when I felt something brushing against my toes. I yelped and snatched up my foot, bolting up from my sleep. Through the darkness, it was no difficulty with my vision, my eyes locked with a pair of emerald green ones, staring back at me with eyes wide open. 'Harreh!' I yelled in surprise, nearly kicking his face as another thunder boomedd, rattling the window. 'What are you doing here?!' I hissed.

Harry made a pouty face and crept to the side of the bed. 'But I'm scared of the storm. I need someone to be with me. Can't I sleep with you for just one night?' He put on a pitiful face, diving under the covers of the bed. 'Just one night?' His face suddenly just popped out beside me.

I suppressed a smile and snorted. 'No!' I pushed his face away and kicked him down the bed. 'You're not scared, you're just pretending to be. Don't tell me you are a wimp Styles, you big baby.' I watched from the corner of my eye as he climbed back up.

'Technically,' He fixed his curls a little bit. 'I own this room so this bed is my property as well.' He had a good point...I raised my eyebrow as he cuddled up towards me, wrapping his arms around my waist and resting his head on my shoulder. Even though I couldn't see his face, I bet he was smiling wide in a cheeky manner, his dimples showing very obviously. I smirked and slapped him in his chest.

'Just one night.' I emphasized on the one and kicked off the covers. Harry watched me with a confused expression as I grabbed all the cushion from the sofa. I stacked them up neatly into a wall on the center of the bed and smiled. 'I need my space.' I explained. 'This is you we are talking about, I need to take precautions.'

Harry pouted, peeking from over the barrier of cushions. 'Really? But I won't do anything...' He whined.

'No!' I chuckled and another loud burst of thunder made me jump. The door opened and another figure walked in. 'You too Louis?! You're not afraid of the storm, are you? You are twenty-two.' I rolled my eyes as Louis, tousled hair and frankly wide awake, skipped into the room.

'I saw Harry come in here. I'm entitled to come into this room too.' Louis grinned. 'So what are you doing?' He bounced on top of the bed, rubbing his hands gleefully.

'We were about to go to sleep...well actually I was going to sleep when he came in,' I nudged my head towards Harry's direction. 'And then you came, so I think it's time for you...well better be both of you, to get out of here. I'm exhausted.'
