(A/N) So it's the end of my school holidays, I decided to finish up the story. But here's a small info on the sequel : Azelynne is back. But she's a totally different person from the one when she left Galencia. Harry is glad that she's back, but he can't help feeling like something was wrong with her. To complicate things, he can no longer harbour feelings for her since he was engaged to be married to another. Not to mention Azelynne seemed to spending lots of time with his brother...

So ya. Tell me what you think of it!

Anyway this is the final chapter of World War 3. Thank you so much for sticking with me until the very end. But you haven't seen the last of Azelynne yet! She will be back! Enjoy!

I'm so sleepy I'm gonna hit the sack. Good night peeps!

Chapter 31

I let the cold water run down my face, ignoring the fact that I was shivering uncontrollably. Just standing in the showers with the water pouring down on me helped me think most of the time. I knew I had to get away from here, as far away as possible. If I see him every time, the image of my dead mother will just keep haunting me. He will forget about me, the king would be most pleased, everybody will be just fine. Besides, I don't really belong here. I wanted to go back home.

Harry didn't come knocking on my door as I had expected for those past few days. A small part of me wished he would, the disappointment was really heavy on my chest. Though the other part of me was convinced that it was for the best, he could get on with his life without me constantly getting in his way. He deserved so much more than this.

I turned off the tap and stepped out of the showers, standing in front of the mirror. My eyes were still red and puffy from crying last night. I wished that silly boy didn't have such an effect on me. Running my hands through my used-to-be silvery white hair which was now a rusty brownish-red - I had only just dyed it, I might regret this one little decision I made. I grabbed a pair of scissors from the sink with a shaking hand. This was for everyone's good. I snipped at my hair to a very short length, dismissing the messy jagged style, as my hair fell onto the bathroom floor.

A set of men's clothing was placed neatly on the bed, courtesy of Neon who seemed puzzled when I requested them but she asked no questions. I slipped the clothes on, a little big for my frame but it would do just fine. I dilated my white irises with a deep shade of blue and wore the silicon mask of a man.

I checked myself in the mirror. I did look like a man. Staring at myself wide-eyed in the mirror, I could barely recognise myself. Which was kind of the point anyway.

I grabbed a bag pack and quickly stuffed in the essential needs. Can't be running away only to starve. Bottles of water, packets of food, a fresh change of clothes, a large stack of money. I don't think I was missing anything.

'Azelynne?' I heard a knock on the door. 'Are you awake yet? Aze? Come on out for a second, I need to speak with you. Unlock the door, please.' He knocked three more times and I panicked. I waited and waited, praying whomever it was would just walk away. It was silent now.

I swung the bag over my shoulder and threw the door open, making a wild dash. Instead, I hit a hard chest and nearly fell but a strong hand caught my arm before I could hit the floor. 'Harry!' I squeaked, finding myself getting lost in his green eyes. My heart skipped a beat and I realized what I forgot, voice chips. Darn it! I sounded like a girl. I quickly cleared my throat and got to my feet. 'Thank you, your highness.' I bowed deeply, avoiding eye contact.

'Have you seen a girl with white hair and white eyes?' Harry asked and I was afraid he might recognise me.

'No sir.' I said gruffly, trying to shield my eyes with my hair.

'Hang on.' He grasped painfully on my shoulder, crushing my bones. His eyes were cold as he glared. 'What were you doing in her room?' He shook me violently.

'Nothing, nothing.' I tried to overcome the shock. 'I got the wrong room. I thought it was the toilet! Sir, I mean no harm!' For once, I felt very vulnerable, I shrunk away from Harry's murderous cold stare.

'Get out of my sight.' Harry muttered and I stumbled towards the elevator, furiously pressing the buttons. I glanced back one last time but Harry had already disappeared. I slumped against the glass wall of the elevator. My heart ached badly. I hadn't planned to bump into him one last time, it made parting even harder. I didn't leave him any goodbye note, because I knew I couldn't write one. If I did, I wouldn't want to leave him. I fought down a sob that rose in my throat.

The elevator bell dinged and I pulled myself together. The palace doors opened and I stepped into the open. It has been too long. The smell of freedom, well mostly the salty seawater.

'Azelynne.' I pivoted on my heels and quickly sunk into a deep bow. King Javon was looking down at me with his hands behind his back. 'There is no need for pretense, I already know.' He chuckled. 'Up.'

'Sir, I-' I bit my lips and finally gave in with a sigh, peeling off the silicon mask. 'You are not going alert Harry, are you?'

'If you do not wish me to.' I blinked twice. The king was never that nice to me, so why be nice now? 'My dear girl, I know I have offended you in many ways - an old man's mistake - , and I apologise for all my wrong-doings, if you will accept them. If you are running away because of what I said last night, I offer you my most sincerest apologies as a king, a host to a guest, and a father to my son. Do you think it wise?' He looked me in the eye. 'To leave Harry like that? In a state of distraught, it could destroy him.'

'I thank you, sir, for your apologies.' I curtsied with a weak smile. 'I'm very comfortable with my decisions. I hope you will respect it. Harry will be better off without me, and so will I. I'm leaving for all the right reasons sir, but none of them had anything to do with you. Thank you sir. Could you do me a favour and help me bid the boys farewell?'

'That I will.' The king patted my back good-naturedly. 'Now run along, before anyone finds out. But remember, if you do happen to change your mind, if you need any help at all, don't hesitate to come back.' He winked and smiled knowingly. 'Oh wait, hang on.' He pressed lightly against his ear. 'Harry, my boy!' He paused for a moment, nodding. 'Have I seen Azelynne?'

I shook my head vigorously, waving my hands in the air like some madwoman. "I'm not here!" I mouthed as the king glanced sideward at me.

'Yeah, she's here.' He handed me an earpiece. I narrowed my eyes at the king before plugging it on. What happened to not alerting Harry?

'Harry?' I had to admit, I was a little bit curious as to what he was going to say. 'Whassup?' My voice was surprisingly casual.

'Aze, you're not thinking about running away, are you?' I could hear the strain in his voice. 'We can sort things out. You and I. Forget my father. You can't do this to me again. Azelynne! Answer me!'

I was dumbfounded, frozen. No words were forming in my head. 'I-I-' I stammered and a large hand patted my shoulder. I glanced up at the king who smiled sadly and nodded for me to go on.

'Azelynne, I'm watching you right now.' Hearing those words, my head whipped behind to see if Harry was standing there, but no. I couldn't see him anywhere. 'I know what you're thinking. But what about those moments we shared, didn't you feel something? Please don't break my heart again, Aze.'

'Harry, I'm so so sorry. I can do this and I will do this. See you around...or maybe not.' I quickly disconnected and handed back the earpiece to King Javon. 'Thank you sir.' I curtsied again.

The king nodded in acknowledgement. 'Oh, and one more thing.' The king tossed something into the air and I caught it. 'There will be no need to steal.' He chortled and retuned into the palace.

I fingered the key card to a speedboat. Nice. I made my way to the dock and sighed. Looking back at the tall palace tower, I saw a small figure high up, pacing back on forth. I was most definitely sure who it was as I clutched my chest in pain. 'Goodbye Harry.' I said under my breath and hopped into the boat. I would most definitely miss his curls, his dazzling green eyes, those dimples, his silliness. 'Forgive me.'
