Chapter 28

I stirred in my sleep. My dreams were like flashes of the wars and I always wake up with the pillow damp from my tears. It was a relief to wake up at times, and then realise that it was all in the past. I snuggled further under the covers, sighing contently. It smelt of Harry...

My eyes fluttered open and found that I couldn't move. Harry's arms were wrapped around me, keeping my hands secured to my sides and his legs were slung around my body, cuddling me as if I were a bolster. His face was nuzzled against my nape and his curly hair was tickling my neck. I squirmed slightly and slowly readjusted my position to face him, our noses touching. He looked so beautiful and peaceful when he was asleep, his chest heaving up and down to his rhythmical breathing. I traced his features inside my head, smiling to myself. This was the boy I had sworn to kill a few months ago.

I watched as his long lashes twitched, his eyelids opened and I found myself staring into Harry's dark green eyes, already captivating me. His lips curved into a smile. 'Morning, love.'

I chuckled. That was the first time anyone called me that, well besides my parents. 'Good morning, Mr You-Broke-Down-My-Wall-of-Cushions-For-Personal-Space.' His big hands slipped into mine, our fingers intertwining together.

Harry shrugged, smiling cheekily, his dimples appearing. 'I can't help it. You looked so squishy.' He whispered, pulling me closer towards him. I laughed at his choice of words. 'Aze,'

'Mhm-hmmm?' I got a little carried a way, twirling my fingers in his soft curls.

'I want to show you something.' Harry announced. 'Get dressed. Go on. Whenever you're ready.'

I groaned. I wanted to just lie on the bed for the whole day, studying his face. I sat up groggily and stiffled a big yawn. 'Alright then. And get your lazy arse out of here! I need to clean up.' I dragged him up to a sitting position. His hair was a mess, his curls sticking in all kinds of odd angles. Reluctantly, he got out of bed and shuffled oh so painfully slow towards the door. He winked at me and gave one last cheeky grin before exiting the room. I smiled to myself. Oh that boy.

I cleaned myself up and put on crisp clean clothes. Harry was already waiting when I was finished, looking fresh and good as always, playing with one of his gadgets on the bed, his thumbs fiddling furiously. 'Oh, your done.' Harry looked up and quickly shoved his toy into his pocket before jumping off the bed, landing just ahead of me. 'Follow me.' He said, taking my hand, leading the way.

We walked past corridors, going through a path I was not familiar with. We trailed continuously up a winding staircase and I frowned. 'Why can't we just use the elevator?' Puzzled and tired, I waited for his reply. My muscles were sore from walking up the steps.

'This wing is new. Sorry, the elevator hasn't finished yet. So we're just gonna have to do the old fashion way, climb.' Harry muttered. I knew he was trying to act all macho and sorts but I noticed his pace has slowed down. For the whole time, we remained silent for fear we might lose our breaths.

I let out a loud sigh of relief as we reached the top of the stairs. The sudden drop of temperature made me shake violently. 'Where are we going?' I asked, nearly bursting with anticipation and curiosity. Subconsciously, I started rubbing my arms in a poor attempt to get rid of the goosebumps. I wondered if we were going to some winter-snowing designed place. 'It's really cold in here...'
