Alexa texted me later that day and told me she can come to my place at around four, and that's how it went.

I got home after school and watched TV, completely forgetting about Alexa, when I heard the doorbell chime. I walked to the door and opened it, "Alexa!" I said, a little confused about why she was standing at my doorstep.

"Hi, Lynn," she said, walking into my house and sitting down on my sofa, "Glee, huh? Are you re-watching or have you never watched it?"

"Umm I'm re-watching." I said, "Did we plan to meet? We probably did. Anyway, hi! Let's not do actual work today, let's just get to know  each other" I offered.

"Yeah, okay" She replied and asked me what my favorite color was.

"Purple, but not that really gross, dark purple. Light purple, kind of like pastel purple." I answered, "What's yours?"

"White." She stated, "It's the combination of all colors, all in one, and it looks peaceful."

"Cool," I said, "Wanna get out of here? There's nothing to do." She said yes and we headed out.

I didn't have a car, but Alexa did. I entered the passenger seat and she entered the driver's side, she turned the key and started the car and we drove away.

"Where'd you want to go?" She asked.

"There's a cool little donut shop not far from here, do you like donuts?" I suggested.

"I don't like donuts," she said. I gave her the Look Of Doom and she quickly continued to talk, "but I could definitely use some coffee."

We drove to the donut shop, Alexa parked her car, and we walked into the store.

"Hey there Ernie, my man!" I greeted, Ernie, the incredibly kind owner of the store that I knew very well, and gave him a high five.

"Lynny! How are you doing today? Who's this lovely lady you brought in today, a new girlfriend?" He asked and playfully punched me.

I laughed and corrected him, "No, man, this is my-" I started when I was cut off

"Friend" Alexa interrupted me and reached her hand out so that Ernie could shake it. "I'm Lynn's friend, Alexa, nice to meet you" She said and smiled, and I think I let out a small sound when she did.

Her smile was pretty magnificent; her teeth as white as snow, small wrinkles formed near her eyes,  her eyes slightly closing as she lifts her chin a little, and then I noticed her perfect jawline. I felt the need to run my finger around the shape of her beautiful, sharp jawline so badly that I had to stuff my hands in my pockets.

I bought myself a glazed donut and Alexa bought some coffee. We talked for a while and got to know each other better. From our chat, I found out she has a dog named Dante, she has a younger sister named Sam, she lives five blocks from me, and she's lesbian. Which means she likes girls, which means she might like me.

Wait what? Did I just think that? I barely know the girl, how could I possibly know I like her? I asked myself.

I shook myself out of my thoughts and finished the donut. When we were both done, we drove back to my house, walked up to my room and sat on my bed.

Alexa's eyes were stuck on something but I couldn't figure out what it was. She then walked towards my CD stand and looked through my collection.

"Queen, The Beatles, Panic, Hands Like Houses, Fall Out Boy, pretty good taste, kid." She said, "Whoa, wait. Whats this? 'Untitled EP, by Lynn Gunn'" She said, holding out a CD, I snatched it out of her hands and pulled it to my chest. She giggled a bit and I smiled.

"Show me what you've got, Gunnulfsen" she said.

"It's all a work in progress," I said, a little nervous to perform one of my very own songs in front of someone other than my cat and Marcus. I took out my guitar but put in back down. "Not here," I said, and lead Alexa to the basement.

The basement was the best room in the house, in my opinion. It is a room dedicated to my brother and I. Marcus has a boxing bag, a judo mat and other boxing and judo equipment. We kept all of our books there and a TV connected to an Xbox. I keep my electric and acoustic guitar there, along with an electric piano and a mini studio.

I got my first guitar when I was ten, my parents surprised me on my birthday with a really beautiful classic guitar. I would play it all the time,  even though I had no idea how to,  and when I turned twelve, I decided to teach myself how to actually play guitar. I became very dedicated, and in time I got better and better. I would take my guitar everywhere with me, on family trips, summer camp, even my grandparents house. I still have that guitar, I decided to hang it on the wall last year to remind me to keep trying, even if I don't get things right the first few times because I can get better, like I did wit guitar.

"Wow," Alexa said, "This place is really dope, dude." She walked towards the guitars and picked one up.

"Yeah, its pretty rad down here." I said.

"Okay, now show me something." She said, handing me an acoustic guitar.

I took the guitar and hesitantly began to play.

"This isn't violence this is just a war in my head,
I give it time but it never seems to end.
I feel a fire in the back of my throat,
So let's get covered in flames and play some games with the smoke.
...."

I sang confidently, but really I was scared of what Alexa thought of it. And as I sang, some weird thoughts came to my mind. What would it feel like to kiss her? I think I like her. Damn, she looks really good. This lighting makes her eyes look like they're glowing. I tried to shake the thoughts out of my head but with no success.

I finished the song and let out a small sigh. "Well, what do you think?" I asked.

"I think you're amazing. Gosh darn, was that great." She said and smiled at me.

"Thanks, do you play?" I asked. She nodded and I gave her the guitar.

She played "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth and in the middle of the song, she started to sing.

Her voice was different; raw, touching, painfully honest. I was mesmerized by her playing and her singing; I didn't care what she played or sang, I just want to hear her.

---

"Hey Alexa?" I asked, we were sitting on the couch, jamming out.

     "Yea?" she said.

"Can I just do something real quick" I asked hesitantly.

"Sure." She said, and the moment she did, I got closer to her, put down the guitar. Stared at her dead in the eye, put my hand on her cheek, and kissed her softly.
