Best Friends Forever

Chapter 1 - The dude in my doorway.

For some reason I had awaken in a horrible mood. My damn phone was ringing. My mom decides to call me and give me 15 minutes to get up and out of bed because she wants to bring me out for breakfast. Now when my mom wants me to go out to breakfast, dinner, or even lunch. It's not because she's hungry like any normal parent does when they go out to eat. It's because she wants to break some terrible news to me in public so I can't freak out at her if I'm not satisfied with what she just told me. But whatever, I decided to get my lazy ass out of bed and make my way to the bathroom. As I shut the door behind me. I looked in the mirror and was terrified with what I seen. (my face) I removed my leftover mascara that was now practically plastered at least two inches down my face, caused by me rubbing my hand on my face in my sleep. Then quickly applied the Full Lash Bloom mascara from Covergirl. I applied some lip balm, brushed my teeth, and took off back into my messy room. I opened up my closet and threw on the first thing I seen, which was a really baggy black North Face sweater and black leggings. I ran down the stairs and out the door, wondering where the rest of my family was including my dad and little sister.

"Rayna, honey I have something to tell you, and when I do you need to give me your honest opinion."

"Alright mom, just tell me already what the hell is going on?"

"We have chosen as a family that we are moving to Canada in the fall, your dad has gotten an amazing job offer in Toronto." she almost whispered.

"Wait! WHAT!" I pretty much screamed throughout the whole restaurant.

"Rayna! We are in public keep your voice down." Mom blurted out.

"No! I'm done. I have to go. Bring me home right now."

I have lived here in California my whole 16 years of life. There's no way this family is going to pack up and move, we have family here, an amazing school, and great friends. I can't believe my mom right now. Who does she even think she is. She's going to ruin everything.

"I'm sorry sweetie but just listen. We are buying a house, you can have the biggest room with a bathroom and a walk in closet, and the school is just down the road."

"I'm not at all happy or ok with this in anyway. But I'm going to enjoy the whole summer and totally avoid the fact that in the fall I'm switching country's!! I'm going to sit here in this restaurant and eat my salad like everything's ok, because it is. It really is ok." I calmly spoke.

"Honey I thought this would be a good idea, but we are moving no matter what, it'll be a great experience." mom replied in a upset kind of voice.

I'm going to have an amazing and perfect summer just watch me!

"Hey Luke, come over right now bud."

"I'm sorry Rayna I can't." Luke said sadly

"Ugh why not? I have something to tell you, come hangout please for me?" I begged.

"Um fine I guess, but is it ok if my friend Josh comes over too? He just moved here maybe you could make friends with him since he doesn't know anyone yet."

"Alright, yeah sure, I'd love to meet Josh. Sounds like fun!" I tried to make myself seem interested in meeting new people.

After that me and Luke said bye and hung up the phone. I'm probably going to miss Luke the most. He's my best friend. I don't have many friends but the ones I do have are mostly guys, because I mean it's great to be friends with someone like Luke. I'm a tomboy. I like video games, and I hate gossip and shit. Oh and Luke's pretty hot, like come on. Who doesn't want a hot guy best friend? Nobody... Exactly! See my point!

I heard a fancy kind of knock on the door which had to be Luke. I didn't even flinch because I knew he'd just barge right in anyway. I heard my door open, I looked over and you'd never guess who I seen standing up in the door way of my room... I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought for sure I was in some kind of dream. I sat there on my bed in awe. Who was this dude in my door way?

"Hey I'm Josh!" The smoking hot dude in my doorway said.

"Hi, I'm um.. Ugh, Rayna! Nice to meet you! Come on in."

My room was such a mess. this was so bad. And awkward like i don't even know I just introduced myself to a hot guy named Josh. That just came on in my room and sat on my bed next to me. i have no idea where Luke is, I can't handle situations like this maybe I should say something, and try to make conversation.

"Umm dude, do you know where Luke is?"

"Oh yeah he's downstairs getting us some drinks. Haha I guess he likes to make his self at home when he's here." Josh answered.

"Yeah I guess so, I mean we are pretty much like brother and sister. I love him so much."

That really didn't sound good maybe I should rephrase that. Or nah lets just see what he has to reply with.

"woah, so like you've always been best friends then?" Josh questioned.

What kind of question was that?

"Well yeah we have always been super close." I replied.

"Have you ever thought of taking things further then just friends?"

This was getting way to personal, like where is Luke when you need him? of course I've thought of dating Luke, he'd be the perfect boyfriend, but I'd never tell him or one of his guy friends this information.

"No not really." I hesitated.

Just when it came to an awkward silence, Luke came to save the day. With some really cool looking drinks. In his hand he had three tall drinks that looked to me like some kind of fruit smoothie. I just got up, ran over to Luke, and took the smoothies right out of his hand. I laid them on the desk next to me. I then looked at Luke for a few seconds and gave him the biggest bear hug.

"I really missed you."

Luke had went on vacation to Mexico and just arrived back last night. I haven't seen him in two weeks and I usually see him everyday.

"I missed you too, Ray."

he's the cutest when he calls me Ray! Like oh my gosh! He hugged me back even harder. I really liked his hugs they were so warm and cuddly like I just wanted to stay there all day and hug him, but of course I had to let go eventually so I did. I seen Luke reach to his back pocket. I wondered what he was doing.

"Ray I got something for you, so close your eyes and if you even so much as peak your dead." Luke said very seriously.

"Aww you didn't have too! But alright my eyes are closed."

"Give me your hand."

At that moment the first thing that came in my mind was this must be weird for Josh right now. Then Luke placed something small in my hand.

"Ok open your eyes."

"Oh my gosh! It's beautiful thank you so much Lukie!"

It was a silver bracelet with the word "best friends" carved in it. It was so super cute. I had the most amazing best friend in the world.

"I'm glad you like it, Ray!"

He hugged me one last time. Luke smelt so good, I knew exactly what he wore. It was called chocolate axe. I picked it out one day when we went shopping because he was going on a date and wanted a new scent to wear.
When the hug was over I seen the exact same bracelet on Luke's wrist. All I could think is my best friend is so perfect.

"Alright dudes that's enough of this sappy shit. Let's go watch a movie." Luke announced.

"Ok! Josh, Luke both of you downstairs right now! I've got this cool new movie we can watch on the Xbox."

Both of them grabbed their smoothies and sprinted down the stairs.

Authors note: Hey dude this was my first chapter, it's short and probably a little boring but it gets better, I'll update another chapter by Monday.
