Best Friends Forever

Chapter 3- Dinner with a friend.

"Hey Rayna you still up for dinner tonight?"

"Yeah sure!"

"Alright ill pick you up at 8."

"sounds good Luke"

I placed my phone down on my bed while turning it off. I needed some time to think.
As I lay there so comfortably, I start to wonder. Do I really like Luke? Is it just a little crush? Are they real feelings? No no no! I can't think about this obviously they're not real. We are best friends and that is it.
Ok I need to get my shit together and get ready, I only have an hour. I don't know what to wear! If I dress fancy he will think it's a date. Wait I don't dress fancy anyway... what am I supposed to do?

I ran over to my closet, trying to find the perfect thing to wear. I literally ha maybe one nice top. The rest were casual tee shirts and sweaters. Let's just wear the cute top. It was a light pink muscle tee with dark pink chevron print covering the whole thing. At the top right corner it had a little grey pocket.
I think I'll pair this with my grey workout shorts, that's fancy right? I think...

I heard a knock on my room door. It had given me a small heart attack, thinking it could have been Luke. But then I realized it was a mom kind of
Knock. My mom wasn't coming home until tomorrow so who could it be?
I opened the door to find my mother and father standing in front of me.

"Surprise!" They both scream.

"I thought you weren't coming home until tomorrow?" I questioned, hugging them.

"We decided to surprise you, oh and we bought you something. I bet you'll love it!" Mom says.

"Oh cool. When can I have it?"

"Let me go find it. Just one second" She announced.

About two minutes later she returned with a pretty little box. It had green and blue polka dots and a little cute silver ribbon at the top.
Mom handed me the box. I had no idea what it could be. I was really curious to find out, so I went ahead and opened the box.

"I thought you could caption some memories of your last summer here honey, then you can pin them up at our new place in Toronto." She explained.

It was a yellow Polaroid camera. Now I could carry it around and take pictures of everything I'm doing this summer and it prints out instantly.

"Thanks mom. It has to be the coolest gift I've ever received."

"So how was your time while we were gone?" She questions.

"Alright, I didn't do much just watched movies with Luke and josh." I said nervously.

She's never finding out about that huge party I accidentally hosted.

"oh that's great! Who's Luke?"

"The new kid." I mumbled.

Then I realized I was going out with Luke soon. I better go and finish erring ready.

"Hey mom I'm going out with Luke tonight, I'll be home in a few hours. If you need me just call my cell." I said.

"Ok honey have fun. Later we'll show you some pictures of the new house, and all the cool things there you can do for fun!" Mom says excitedly.

I didn't care about the new house or the cool movie theatres, indoor swimming pools, or skating rinks. All I wanted was to stay in California.

"Hey Ray" Luke says.

"Hey Lukie" I replied giving him a hug. as a jumped in the car.

"Where do you want to go?"

"How about some pizza place?" I asked.

Mine and Luke's favourite thing to do was order a pizza and watch a movie.

"Oh my Gosh, yes!" Luke replies.

The rest of the car ride there was about me and Luke talking about Josh. Josh has a little crush on me. Or at least that's what he told Luke. I barely knew him, so I found it a little weird but whatever.

When we arrived at the pizza place, the first thing Luke did was take off to order us a pepperoni and cheese pizza. Which of course was not only mine but his favorite kind as well.

I let Luke do all the work while I found a place to sit. I picked a little brown and white booth by the window.

"Umm excuse me what do you think your doing?" Some stuck up snob with way to makeup on, blurted at me.

"I'm just sitting, waiting for my pizza is there a problem?" I snapped back at her.

"yeah actually there is! This is my seat and I'd like it if you'd move right now." She demanded.

"Alright fine, ok sure I'll move. But maybe next time you can find some manners." I scowled to her while taking my purse, and moving to the booth behind her.

Geez what's her problem I wondered to myself.

"Hey Ray is everything ok? You switched tables." Luke asks.

"Yeah everything's great. I sat in this girls booth by accident she totally freaked but it's no big deal. Where's the pizza?" I explained so quickly, putting pizza in my mouth.

We sat there for a good 5 minutes shovelling the food in our mouths. Not a word from either one of us. Then suddenly I realized I needed to tell Luke. Tell him all about the big move in September.

"Luke I've been meaning to tell you something, I don't know if it's really the right time but I'm just going to go ahead and say-" He cut me off before I could finish.

"Are you going to confess that your madly in love with me or something? That's what it sounds like right about now." Luke chuckled.

"Yes Luke I do really love you." His eyes lit up.

"But that's not what I'm getting to right now. I wanted to tell you that my parents are making me move to Toronto Canada in September-" Luke had cut me off for the second time.

"When did you find this out?"

"The day I told you and josh to come over. I couldn't tell you. I just couldn't let it out, I'm going to miss you so much Luke." I cried.

"Rayna I think you've just broken my heart into ten thousand pieces."

Teaser: Luke takes Rayna moving pretty hard, and Josh gets to know Rayna a little better.
