The phone rung once again. It had to be at least the fifth time today, and it's only 10:46am. Luke just didn't know how to give up. I obviously don't want to talk to him, so whys he still calling. I don't have time for him. Like right low I'm cleaning and organizing my room. I mean it's super hard to unpack very thing and find a place for it.
I picked up a huge brown box that must've weighed at least a hundred pounds, and opened it with a knife of course. Once it was completly open, one thing really caught my eye. It was a jewelry box. I didn't really think much over the whole thing actually, so I just placed it on my new dresser from Ikea. Then something popped up in my brain. The ring! The one Luke had given me right when school ended. I hurried over to the jewelry box and opened it to expose my little ring, and placed it on the ring finger. It made me a little sad considering Luke probably wasn't wearing his. He's probably out with some other girl and just calling me for fun, to bug me or something. I mean boys are stupid like that. That's when my phone rang for the sixth time.
"Hullo." I said making sure not to add any excitement to my voice, I did t want Luke to think I actually wanted to talk to him.
"Rayna omg! I thought you were dead!" Luke screams through the phone almost deafening my right ear.
"No I'm right here unfortunately." I muttered rolling my eyes even though Luke couldn't see me.
"Where have you been? I have so much to tell you! Jack broke his arm while skateboarding, and we have a new teacher named Mr. Quin. He's so chill. And oh my God! You wouldn't believe this but-" I thought we decided to leave things as is, and to stop talking. This isn't how it should be. He's just amount it harder for me to be here.
"Luke!" I shouted at him signalling him to shut up.
"Yeah."
"I thought we were going to stop talking for a while. This is not what we planned." I confessed.
"Rayna that plans stupid."
"I know but it's the only way that I don't go completly insane from not being able to see you on a regular basis."
"Geez! I was just making sure you weren't dead or something. I mean you live in Canada now. Is it even safe there?"
"Yes I'm pretty sure it's safe, and I'm obviously not dead, did you not see my Instagram posts of the maple trees, and the Tim Hortons doughnuts? I'm perfectly alive. Now I have to go we shouldn't be talking, do you need anything else?"
"Rayna this is totally stupid! Just because you moved doesn't mean we can't talk anymore!"
"Luke I have to move on ok! I broke up with you remember?"
"You what!" He shouted once again.
"I thought that's what I said the night I said goodbye, do you not remember."
"So I'm like.. I'm single. And your... Like single too."
"Yes Luke I'm starting a new chapter of my life. I need to move on. I have to go now."
"Ok wait!"
"What!"
"Just one more question! If we lived together again would we still be together?" That really made me think. I mean nothing really happened to us, it's just I knew the distince wouldn't work.
