23rd Chapter

It's been what? More than one month since he and his sons got kidnapped. His father pleaded not to bring his brothers behind bars but he's not stupid to agree on that.

Not just his life was at stake that time. Yuri and Yuan as well. He almost lost his life, he almost missed seeing his children grew up and yet his father disagreed to put his brothers behind bars?

Hell no. Even Yibo got mad about it.

Now, the sky was painted in honey-gold hues as the sun began to dip beyond the horizon, casting long, glimmering reflections on the restless ocean waves. There was a gentle breeze, warm and salt-kissed, ruffling Zhan's hair as he stood at the marina with his brows furrowed in confusion.

He glanced down at the message Yibo sent thirty minutes ago.

> "Wear something nice. No questions. Bring the boys. I'm sending someone to pick you up. 💙" <

He shook his head. "What is this again huh, Want Yibo?" He whispered.

Now here he was, standing at the edge of the dock in pressed white trousers and a pale blue shirt he rarely wore, clutching both Yuri and Yuan's hands as they waddled beside him in tiny suspenders and loafers—because Haikuan insisted they had to dress up like little gentlemen.

And just like clockwork, a sleek black van pulled up beside them.

The door slid open.

"Chauffeur for the most beautiful family on the coast!" Wenhan grinned, sunglasses too big for his face, clearly loving the dramatics. "Your ride awaits."

Zhan raised an eyebrow. "Okay, what's going on? Is this a prank? Are we all going to karaoke in tuxedos?"

Yuri perked up at the word "karaoke." Yuan just blinked, unimpressed.

"Nope. No pranks. Your prince has a surprise," Haikuan said, appearing from behind the van like he was in a spy movie. Xingchen waved shyly from the front seat, holding two bottles of juice boxes like sacred offerings for the boys.

Zhan couldn't hold back a laugh. "You five are up to something."

"Maybe," Atticus said smoothly, stepping out of the van in crisp linen, like he'd just stepped off a magazine cover. "Get in, Zhan."

The van ride was short and filled with distraction techniques—Wenhan throwing out random riddles, Xingchen playing peek-a-boo with Yuri, Haikuan gossiping loudly about a chef he "accidentally" flirted with at the marina. Meanwhile, Zhan's instincts tingled with suspicion, but he let it slide for now.

As they approached the dock again—but farther this time—the van stopped in front of a luxury white yacht, soft light glowing from its interior and sails fluttering like gentle wings in the twilight.

Zhan's mouth parted in awe.

"Is that...?"

"Yup," Atticus said coolly. "Tonight's venue for whatever crazy romantic thing your guy is about to do."

"It's... beautiful," Zhan whispered, his heart beginning to pound.

Haikuan opened the door for him with a wink. "Go make some core memories. We'll keep the little princes entertained on deck."

Haikuan then picked Yuan while Xingchen chose Yuri to carry.

Zhan stepped onboard the yacht, shoes clicking against polished wood, heart hammering louder than the ocean around him.

Soft instrumental music drifted through the evening air. A trail of flickering lanterns lined the walkway leading toward the front deck. Strings of fairy lights fluttered overhead, casting golden halos along the edges of the boat like stars that had descended just for tonight.
