The next night, Jim had went to a bar. Once again, his luck never letting him down, he got into a bar fight. This particular one, he couldn't just go back to his room. Emergency transport had been called, the sickbay at the academy had been alerted of his condition. Bones was woken up to come and help, Naomi called to be his assistant.

Jim was laying in a sickbay bed, aggravated and in pain. He hated being in these places. The smell, the lighting, the way everyone tells him it's okay when he knows it's not. His side was killing him, he couldn't feel half his face. His leg was bent the wrong way, causing it to be numb but agonizing at the same time.

"Oh dear God." Naomi muttered when she first saw his condition. It was worse than she originally thought. She hasn't known Jim long, only a couple days, but she felt connected to him, something that was rare for most people.

"Hey Naomi." Jim muttered, trying to smile. The right side of his face was extremely swollen, blood everywhere and bruises forming. His ribs were broken. Well, broken was an understatement, shattered was a better word.

"Shh, don't talk. You could make things worse. Don't move either." Naomi said trying to hold back tears. Bones wasn't here yet and Jim wouldn't let any other doctor touch him. Everyone else he would try to swat away with his good arm. His other shoulder was most definitely broken, at the incredibly least dislocated.

"That's.... hard...." Jim muttered, wincing as Naomi started to cut his shirt off. The bruising and swelling on his ribs were already exponential. She could see them throbbing, breathing wasn't helping much, but he couldn't stop breathing.

"I told you not to-"

"Good God!" Bones yelled, running into the sickbay. "What'd you do?! Get in a car crash!?"

Jim moved two of his fingers to point at Naomi. "I told him not to talk." She explained, putting a hypo in his neck. Jim tried to move to protest, but immediately winced and stops moving.

"Good." Naomi muttered, inserting more pain killer into him. He slowly stopped moving and laid on the bed, limp. The pain killer tends to make people drowsy, but prevents them from falling asleep.

It took two hours to fix everything in Jim. He was now able to sleep. His breaths were short and sounded painful, but they weren't doing damage to his lungs anymore. His shoulder was in a sling, the swelling on his face going down.

"Why is it, everywhere he goes, he always ends up here." Bones muttered, taking off some gloves and exhaustedly sitting in a chair by Jim's bed. Naomi was sitting by the other side of the bed, slowly falling asleep.

"I'm surprised the stitches I did a couple days ago held." Naomi said, snapping awake again.

"Get some sleep," Bones suggested, noticing how tired Naomi was. "I'll watch him, let you know when he wakes up."

"Thanks, but I'll sleep here." Naomi muttered, already half asleep. She curled up into a ball in the chair, it was one of the bigger living room chairs seeing as Jim would be here a while. The instant her head touched the arm of the chair and her eyes closed, she was asleep.

~~~~~~~~
"Naomi. Naomi." A soft voice muttered. Naomi tended to be a light sleeper, so it wasn't surprising such a soft voice woke her.
"Whoever you are, let me sleep." She mumbled, adjusting herself in the chair.
"It's Jim. Why am I here?" The voice said again. Naomi opened one eye to see Jim Kirk laying on the bed where he was last night. His head was turned to face her, the swollen side up.
"You got hurt last night. How did that happen?" Naomi said, sitting up. She rubbed her eyes and looked at Jim. The swelling had gone down a little, but he'd be very sore for a while.
"I got into this fight at a bar. The guy punched me a few times, kicked me a few times, smashed a table on my chest, smashed a table on my head, and twisted my arm around a couple times." Jim explained, looking at himself for injuries. "Have to admit, not as bad as I thought."
"Not as bad as you thought!" Naomi said, her voice raising. "You had me worried to death, I've only known you a few days I don't know why I was so worried! You could've died!"
"Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get so hurt." Jim muttered, using his good arm to grab Naomi's hand. "I'm so sorry."
"Fine, but if we are going to date, something needs to change." Naomi said, a stern look on her face.
"What? Anything."
"No more bar fights, or going to bars if it's not a date or you're with someone like Bones."
"Okay." Jim muttered, looking a bit sad. "I won't cheat on you or anything."
"You might find some girl and cheat on me while you're drunk." Naomi pointed out.
"True. True." Jim muttered. "I'm sorry. Won't happen again."
"Thank you. That makes me feel better knowing that you won't get hurt so much anymore." Naomi said, kissing his cheek.
"Sorry to interrupt, but we need to do an examination." Bones said, walking in with a PADD.
"Ugh!" Jim groaned. He really hates exams. Of any kind.
"Yeah yeah. Just try to sit up." Bones said, watching Jim struggle at sitting up.
"My ribs are busted, Bones, what do you expect!" Jim quietly shouted while Bones was laughing.
"Yeah Bones." Naomi mimicked, mocking the doctor with her new boyfriend.
"Oh, well excuse me." Bones defended, sarcastically. The rest of the exam went on like that. Jim struggling, Bones laughing, and Naomi defending Jim.
Maybe things will turn out alright with Jim Kirk. Maybe he could stop being such a ladies man and find that one person he truly loved.
