Those eyes looked like nothing I had seen before. I felt like I was looking into a stranger's eyes even though I thought I had known the boy in front of me better than anyone else. I had been so clueless though. I knew I sometimes lived in my own head, but I had absolutely no idea how this boy could become a complete stranger right in front of my eyes.
He watched my cautiously. We were both just staring at each other. It felt like a lifetime ago that I had been in his arms. Those arms had felt so warm and safe, but I now knew the truth. A truth I wasn't yet ready to speak.
"Park your car, and then get in. We need to talk." He demanded.
I shook my head. I knew I was safe being in my own car. I had no idea what to expect if I got in that car. "You know I can't do that Logan."
"I'm not asking you Sydney. Get in the car." His voice sounded dangerous, a tone I had never heard before.
I shook my head again. I knew I had to leave so I began to put my car into drive so I could pull away, but once I started to move my car I saw Logan turning his own car around to follow mine. I thought about stopping. I had dating Logan for a long time, and part of me believed that he would never hurt me. I knew better though because he loved Monica too, and I already knew how that ended.
I was never one to speed, but I pressed my foot on the gas harder than ever before. I knew it was stupid but I grabbed my phone. I had to tell someone what I knew before it was too late. I called the person I thought deserved to know the most. I knew this wasn't the right way to tell someone this, but it had to be done.
"Sydney?" answered a voice I hadn't heard in awhile.
"Harper. I'm really sorry to be calling you like this, but I have to tell you something before it's too late," I rushed it all out. I knew I would be lucky if Harper could even understand me. I looked through my rearview mirror and could see Logan speeding up behind me.
I could hear Harper talking to someone she must have been with. "It's your sister... I don't know... She sounds a bit crazy Chase."
"Are you with Blake and Chase right now?" I asked her.
"Yes. What is going on? I've put you on speaker." Harper replied.
At the same time Chase began to speak, "Are you alright Sydney?"
"No. Harper, I'm so sorry. I know who killed Monica though. I talked to Mike today."
Blake interrupted before I could finished, "I told you to stay away from Mike!"
"Mike didn't kill Monica," I stated. Before I could continue I felt my body crash forward. Logan had rammed into the back of my car. It wasn't enough to do much damage to myself, but it was enough to get my attention.
"Ow!" I yelled.
"Where are you? What is happening?" I heard Blake's voice over Harper and Chase's.
"I know Mike didn't kill Monica," Harper's voice was clear.
"Logan just hit my car. I'm trying to drive to Chase's house now." I told them as I looked behind to see what Logan was going to do next. He was trying to wave me down so I would pull over, but I knew that wasn't an option.
"Logan?" Harper asked. "Logan killed Monica," it was a statement but at the same time a question. Harper's voice was thick with emotion this time.
