Oliver walked me to my locker happily, chatting about everything but what just happened outside. Which I was very grateful for, I didn’t feel like dealing with it all right now. I quickly grabbed the books I needed for my first few classes and throwing them into my bag. As I shut my locker and turned to face Oliver, I heard the most annoying voice in the world.
“What are you doing Syd? Getting the nerds to carry your books? Or did you finally realize Logan was too good for you and got someone who was on the same level as you?” I didn’t need to look to know that Ashley Morgan was standing behind me with the girls that she called friends but everyone knew they only liked her because she was rich.
I turned to her and smiled, “Logan and I are doing amazing, thanks for asking. You know Oliver, Ash. Don’t act so stupid, someone might think you’re a dumb blonde and we wouldn’t want that.” I hooked my arm through Oliver’s, who was smirking now. As we began to walk down the hallway to my first period class, I heard Ashley scoff behind me. I couldn’t help but laugh quietly to myself, when would she ever learn.
We reached my English class quickly. Logan was leaning against the wall talking to a few of his football friends that were in my class too. I turn to Oliver and smiled, “Thanks for walking with me. I guess I have to go face him now.” I couldn’t help but pout a little; I didn’t feel like doing this right now. I know I couldn’t stay mad at Logan even though his comment to Chase was completely unnecessary and rude.
“Syd, it was my pleasure,” he smiled nicely, “just hope the bell rings really soon so he doesn’t get to do much talking,” he whispered before walking off to his own class.
Logan noticed me standing there, he must have told his friends he wanted to talk to me alone because they all went inside the classroom when he started walking towards me. I walked quickly to the door but Logan blocked me from going inside, “Can we talk? Or are you going to ignore me all day?” he asked quietly, even though I could tell he was annoyed still.
“Class is going to start soon, but go on. If you want to talk, then talk.” I told him, crossing my arms over my chest. I was trying to stay angry, but looking into his light blue eyes I knew I couldn’t for long.
“Syd, please,” he pleaded. He hated when we argued, or I was mad at him. “It was a stupid comment, Sydney. He was pissing me off! You know he was trying to get under my skin, and it was working,” Logan was getting worked up now.
“I don’t understand why you hate each other so much,” I questioned, “it was a silly position freshman year. You both are quarterbacks now; you share the time on the field. Why can’t you get along?” I asked.
Logan sighed, “You wouldn’t understand it. I just don’t like the kid. I really don’t want you to sleep at his house tonight.”
Suddenly someone bumped into me, they were small because I didn’t move much but it still took me by surprise. “Sorry, Syd!” Juliette giggled. I looked over and smiled seeing my two best friends.
Juliette was wearing a black pencil skirt, that made her legs look like they went on for miles, and a loose fitted flower printed top. Her light blonde hair was wavy, and looked perfect like always. Her natural-looking makeup made her light blue eyes stand out. Juliette was very girly, and loved to dress up.
Grayson was standing next to her smirking, he loved to watch Logan and I argue, for some reason he thought it was the funniest thing in the world. Grayson was dressed casually like always. He looked good though, His dark hair was messy, but that’s how it always was. It fit him well. He had light brown eyes, which stood out from his tan skin.
“It’s fine,” I smiled at Juliette. “I’ve been waiting for you.”
“I know! Sorry that you can’t stay at my house tonight. Blake called me to tell me the news,” she nodded her head behind me. I turned to see Chase, Blake, Harper, and Oliver chatting. Chase looked over at the same time I was looking and winked.
I turned away quickly as Juliette laughed. “So my grandparents are leaving Thursday night. That party Friday, you do plan on going with me right?” she asked looking at me sternly.
“Yes, I’m going. You’ve only asked my a hundred times to go with you.” I chuckled a little. Chase was having a party Friday night because his parents were going away, it just happened to be the same weekend as our homecoming game. After the game everyone was planning on going to Chase’s to celebrate, even though they haven’t won yet.
“I’m not going,” Logan cut in. Well this was news to me. Last time I checked he planned to go. The whole football team planned to go.
“What are you talking about man?” Grayson asked. “Everyone is going.”
Juliette looked annoyed, “The whole football team and all the cheerleaders are going,” Juliette was a cheerleader, so was I. “You have to go. As part of the team you have to go.”
The bell rang, telling us we had 5 minutes to get to class. “Logan, please.” I begged.
“I don’t want to hang around Chase!” Logan looked like a 5 year old, not getting his way.
“You have more classes with him than I do,” Juliette said, laughing, “You ‘hang’ around him all day. You can deal with him for one extra night.” Juliette did air quotes with her hands as she quoted Logan.
“Whatever,” he grumbled, “I gotta get to class.” He leaned over and kissed my cheek quickly before heading off to his class.
I shrugged as I looked at Juliette, who said, “He’s going to the party.” I just laughed as I headed inside my English class that I had with both Grayson and Juliette. I sat in my usual seat in between Juliette and Grayson.
Class passed really fast as English was one of my favorite subjects. The rest of the morning went by kind of slow. I got a few texts from Logan during the say of him saying sorry for being a jerk and that he will go to the party to make Juliette happy. I couldn’t help but laugh to myself about the last part.
Half way through the day, lunch finally came. I was standing in the lunch line waiting to buy a sandwich, when I heard Chase and Oliver behind me talking. They must not have realized I was only a few people ahead of them.
“Logan is a douche, I don’t know what she sees in him,” I heard Chase say.
Oliver replied, “I don’t know. I just feel bad for her.” What? Why would he feel bad for me?
Chase must have wondered the same thing, “What are you talking about?” he questioned Oliver.
“You didn’t hear?” Oliver asked.
“Obviously not, man,” Chase laughed. “I wouldn’t ask if I knew what you were talking about.”
“I thought you knew,” Oliver stumbled over his words a little, “I don’t think I should tell you then. It’s just some things I’ve heard today.”
I turned just enough to get a quick glance at them as I saw Chase push Oliver a bit, “Just spit it out, Hyde. It can’t be that bad.”
I was starting to feel guilty for listening to their conversation, but I had a right to know they were talking about me. I was a bit nervous; I hadn’t heard anything bad about Logan and I.
“I overheard earlier that Logan went to a party this weekend without Syd,” my heart was pounding as I finally heard what Oliver knew. I already knew he went to a party without me this weekend. I didn’t care. Juliette stayed over my house and we didn’t feel like going out. Logan went out with a few friends from football. I sighed, it wasn’t anything bad.
“Does Sydney know?” Chase asked. I could hear that he was curious, but his voice always sounded amused.
“I think she knows about the party. I don’t think she knows about what happened after the party with Logan and Missy.”
