I paced back and forth in my room ranting on about how selfish he was and that he couldn't make me do this.

A light knock sounded on my door. Slowly, I opened it reviling my mom. She smiled at me but that didn't hide the fact that a red and purple bruise was forming on her face.

"He hit you." I hissed out between my teeth.

She walked in my room closing the door behind her not answering or confirming what I just said. She sat on my bed and patted the spot next to her. Slowly I sat down looking at her big brown eyes filled with worry and fear.

Taking a deep, shaky breath she started. "Mia I think it's time that you know the truth. James (her father) wouldn't let me tell you but it's only fair that you know."

"Mom what are you talking about?"

"Just listen. It will all make sense through time. First I'm going to tell you a story."

I looked at her waiting for her to start. She looked so broken in that moment. My mom never found her mate so her parents married her off to my dad.

"Once there was a kingdom. In that kingdom was a old king, wise with age. He gave his kingdom to his oldest son with that the oldest ruled just like his father. He had a beautiful daughter, that no one saw but the villagers could feel her presence. He hid his daughter fearing for her safety. But one day while the king was to busy to check up on his beloved daughter the kingdom was attached. His kingdom was in utter chaos but one person could stop it. The daughter stepped outside the castle and saw the destruction. Terrified for her kingdom and its people she killed men as fast as lighting. The kingdom was saved but his beloved daughter got shot. The king became so depressed that he gave up on the kingdom, and when they got attached again everyone died."

I heard this story many times when I was little but it just seemed so.... unreal. No one could kill someone that fast not even our best warriors.

"Mom I've heard this story a million times why are you telling me this. It wasn't real."

My mom smiled at me "Stories are legends full of truth. You learn from their mistakes."

I nodded for her to continue. She cleared her throat "There is no easy way to put this..... Mia your a hybrid. You have  all of the shapeshifter animals, your part werewolf, vampire, angel, mermaid, fairy, witch, and lycan. You are stronger than anyone and people will fear you. When you are at your lowest point in life, don't give up, keep fighting."

With that she left leaving me confused, afraid, and tired. So I let my body fall into the darkness that sleep offered for me.

"Mia wake up!" Someone hissed at me.

"Ugh!" I said as I turned around.

After about 5 minutes someone started poking my face. I slapped their hand away from me. Then someone started to shake me. When will they ever stop!

So since they wouldn't leave me alone, I started slapping them non-stop.

"Damn! Women! Stop slapping me!" Said a male voice.

Opening my eyes I saw my brother hiding behind his arms from my slaps. I chuckled at him "What do you want?"

I got up and stretched walking to the bathroom. "I'm taking you swimming. Now get dressed. Dad will be up in 3 hours."

I put on some high waisted blue jean shorts with a white crop top. My shoes were white with silver spikes on the heel. I put my waist long, thick, curly red hair in a ponytail and headed downstairs.

My brother and I got in his car and drove off to the beach.

I was surprised that the beach wasn't as far away from the castle as I originally thought. The ocean was so beautiful, waves crashed onto the sand gracefully. I got out of the car with a smile on my face, taking my heels off I walked towards the ocean.

I felt something calling me, I didn't know what, but I wanted to find out. I dug my feet in the sand letting out a sigh. That's when I heard it, hooves pounding on the sand. I look up to see the most beautiful horse right in front of me.

It was pitch black with one white stripe going down it's back. The horse was at least 6 foot tall. It's hair was also black and started falling into the creatures ocean blue eyes.

"Hi. I'm Mia." I told the horse. I knew that this wasn't just any horse it was a seahorse.

A male voice spoke in my mind 'I'm Wade.'
