I walked towards Wade petting his head. He snorted leaning into my touch. "Can I ride you? My love."
'Oh of course.' He said bending down to my height (5'0").
I jumped up onto his back swinging one leg over. Grabbing his mane I told him to walk over towards my brother. Wade trotted over stopping a few feet away from my brother.
My brother looked at Wade with fear. Maybe because he didn't bite my fingers off or because he let me ride him. Sea horses hated other people touching them that wasn't their owner. If their owner was in trouble they'd help them without a second thought.
Seahorses didn't eat grass or oats like regular horses they ate meat. Since seahorses live in the ocean for most of their lives, they have to drink lots of water once they find their owner on land. Seahorses are very protective of what's theirs, so you would have to keep them away from other seahorses and regular horses.
'Who is he?' Wade asked me.
'That's my brother, Jake.'
Wade snorted saying 'Well if you want him to stay alive keep him away from me.'
I laughed looking over at Jake who seemed shocked. "What's wrong with you?" I asked him.
"I've never seen a seahorse before. I just thought they were a legend."
I scoffed at him crossing my arms "Wade is not a legend."
"You named him Wade?"
I looked at him deadpanned "No.... he told me... duh!"
I spent hours training at the beach with Jake, I was good with archery, hand-to-hand combat, and sword fighting. Finally are time came to an end and Jake took me home saying that my sea horse would be there when we returned.
*2 days later*
I was stuck in my room with nothing to do. My dad told me I was on lock down since I yelled in his face about marrying the Alpha of Italy. Slowly I looked around my plain room, nothing seemed out of place.... but it didn't feel the same.
How could my father do this to me! Surely he sees the wrong doing in it! If only he just understood about mates.
Then out of nowhere, my eyes started freaking out, or something like that. A image passed through my mind. It was of Wade, he wouldn't eat or sleep. The man tried to touch him but Wade bared his teeth at him.
"Come on. You must eat or you'll get sick." Said the man shoving oats towards Wade.
Wade let out a terrifying scream making the man cower in fear. Wade started pacing in his stall digging his hooves in the ground while neighing loudly.
When the image stopped and my eyes went back to normal. I pounded downstairs towards the throne room. Opening the doors I rushed to my father.
"Father Please! Let me see my sea horse! He misses me dearly." I pleaded with him.
My father seemed to consider this for a moment before answering. "Fine. You may see your seahorse."
I bowed to him thanking him, I walked out of the throne room but once I turned the corner I ran. My sneakers pounded on the tile floors as I made my way to the stables.
Making my way there a vivid smell of fresh hay and oats flooded into my nose. Wade was the only stall on the left away from the regular horses. Walking up to him I petted his nose.
Wade relaxed at my touch. "Hey. How're you holding up?" I asked him stroking his long black hair.
He snorted in my face telling me he was furious. I closed my eyes sensing his feelings, angry, hungry, and scared.
"Come on. Let's go get you some food." I said leading him out.
The stall boy stopped me saying "Who are you and where are you going with this horse."
"I'm Prince Jake's second cousin twice removed. I'm taking Wade out for a run." I said calmly. Good thing I remembered that I was Jake's 'cousin'.
The man nodded letting me pass. I hopped on Wade's back riding him through the dark forest. Bending down I grabbed my bow and arrows while Wade kept a steady pace. We rode until Wade's salty sweat started to sting my eyes.
'Stop here. My love.' I said in Wade's head.
Wade slowed to a stop by a pond. As Wade got a drink of water I jumped off his back telling him to stay by the pond.
A rabbit hopped across the leafy earth. The rabbit sniffed around the surrounding area completely helpless. Taking out an arrow I pointed my bow towards the creature. Focusing on the rabbits head, I let the arrow lose hitting the rabbit right in it left eye.
Picking the rabbit up I tossed it to Wade who instantly ripped into the rabbit. Finally when Wade was done I took him back to the stables and headed to my room.
