Chapter 6

CHAPTER 6

~ Hayden's POV

(Tuesday after meeting Lily)

Wow. Lily. She's all I could think about for the rest of my shift. I know this might sound corny but I wanted to see her again, I needed to see her again.

I just kept replaying out short conversation in my head.

"I'm Lily"

"I like that name. It's cute."

"Thanks" she said smiling at the ground. Why did she have to do that, it made her look even more amazing.

"Hayden, HAYDEN!"

I quickly snapped out of my daydream realising the manager, my boss, was waving his hand in front of my face.

"HAYDEN!!" He repeated

"Yes, um I finished cleaning the tables. What should I do now?"

"Hayden you don't seem completely focused today. Is there something worrying you?"

"No no everything is fine. Everything is great actually. " I said with a big smile on my face because I was thinking about Lily.

"Is there a girl?" He said practically reading my mind.

"Yeah," I said as my smile got wider "her name is Lily."

"NAWWWW is my little bro in love?" Said my older brother, Matt who also works at Raw Energy.

"Shut up!" I joked as I punch him in the arm.

"I think it's cute, young love. " he said with a laugh.

"Alright boys, that's enough. Back to work." My boss interrupted.

We got on with our jobs. Matt was on the cash registers along with Chloe. She was his age and he'd been hitting on her since the shop opened but she hasn't taken much notice of him.

I was on cutting up the fruit for the drinks with my best mate Bailey.

Alicia and Ben were making the smoothies. They're both 16 years old and had been together as boyfriend and girlfriend for a couple weeks now.

Alicia put the radio on, Nova 969, the best station. Unfortunately it was an ad, the man said something about a carnival on Friday afternoon. Bailey and I looked at each other, both thinking the same thing.

"So do you want to go?. With Hunter and Jarrod." He asked me, Hunter and Jarrod were my other mates.

"Yeah okay. Matt could take us." I answered, Matt got his Ps about a month ago. I turned to Matt about to ask but he was nodding, already knowing my question. "Thanks mate."

I scrolled through my phone and found Hunter and Jarrod's contact.

To: Jarrod and Hunter

Hey guys! Do you want to go to this carnival on Friday afternoon with me and Bailey? Matt can pick us up at 3:30 and take us home at 7. :)

I sent the message and got back to work, singing alone with the song on the radio as I cut up the fruit. 'Thank you by MKTO'.

"Don't tell us how, tell us how to live our life

Ten million strong, we're breaking all the rules.

Thank you for nothing cause there's nothing left to lose. Ahahah! " Bailey and I sung while we cut up the oranges.

"So tell me about this girl, Hayden. What does she look like? Where did yous meet?" Bailey asked me.

"Where do I start!! Her name is Lily, she does to the dance studio next door and that's where I met her. She's got long brown hair and bright blue eyes." I said knowing I could go on longer but Bailey was starting to tune out.

"Is that all? Mate you don't even know her!" He protested.

"I do know her. Her name is Lily, she's 15, she is the most beautiful girl I've ever met! What else do I need to know?"

"Uhh sorry mate I didn't know how much she meant to you. She must be special."

"Yeah she is. " I said with a smirk.

"When will you see her again?" Bailey asked.

"She said she'll visit me at work after dancing but other than that I'm not sure." I said disappointed.

"Oh don't worry, you'll see her again." He assured me. "Come on. We better get back to work."

"Your right." I agreed and got back to cutting the fruit.
