She had never before experienced the feeling of eyelids weighing a ton, each. But now she did and the feeling was quite overwhelming to say the least. Just how can it even be possible?
Cassie could hear voices nearby, and by the tone of the conversation she heard she could tell that whoever they were, they were pretty pleased with themselves . . . and after a few more seconds Cassie also realized that she was in fact sitting up.
But that was as much for comfort as she would probably have, because as seconds ticked by, new alarming information was sent to her brain from her fatigue body.
Her hands were tied behind her back and her feet were tied together also. Why?
She was utterly confused and she started to get very, very alarmed nearly on the border to terrified.
"AHA! SHE'S AWAKE."
Cassie flinched at the outburst coming from right beside her ear. It was a woman's voice. But somehow she didn't have it in her to get her eyes open.
"OPEN YOUR EYES, BITCH!"
The next second Cassie was bestowed with a hard slap across her face, and it chocked her so much that not a single sound slipped her lips. She swallowed nervously and forced her eyes to open.
"LOOK AT ME."
The woman gripped her chin hard and yanked her head to the side. The blurry vision of shoulder length blonde hair and scarlet red lipstick started to get clearer by the second. The vision was familiar. Cassie knew right away that she had seen this woman before. Her brain just needed time to process the information it had been given. Also that high pitched voice was something she could recall from earlier on. But when?
Cassie blinked a few times and shook her head slowly as she carefully took in the surroundings.
What was all this?
Yet another blow landed on her cheek.
"Stop hitting me, " Cassie hissed and pursed her lips hard together. Damn it, this was starting to annoy her. Good, then maybe the scare she had initially felt would be replaced with anger instead.
"You just suck it up, I only give to you what you deserve, " the woman spat back at her and rose from her squatting position beside Cassie, up to standing.
"What I dese . . .?" Cassie was taken aback. She paused momentarily and tried to recall. What did she deserve? Heck, she had no idea. But one thing she knew was that she wanted some answers, "What is all this and what am I doing here?"
The woman just gave her a smirk.
Damn it, she could not put her finger on it. Why was the darn woman so familiar? Then slowly as the seconds ticked by, the realization hit her and she widened her eyes in recognition. The woman smiled evilly as she saw that it had dawned on her.
"Ah, looks like the penny dropped, " she snarled and walked over to a table nearby the opposite wall. When she returned and stopped in front of Cassie, she could see her holding a gun in one hand and a cellphone in the other. Two men joined her on each side of her. Both of them had an aura about them that just screamed 'thugs' loud and clear.
"What are you doing Pamela?" Cassie asked as her earlier developed courage flew out the door with light speed. Did she really want to know?
"YOU are going to make a phone call, " Pamela stated flatly.
