After parking his bike, Billy yanked the entrance door open and stomped with purpose up the stairs to Pamela's apartment. He was still confused to why she had called him earlier.
He really thought that she had gotten the message that he wanted nothing more to do with her, but obviously he had been wrong. Maybe he should talk to her in the only language she understood . . . No, he thought, even though she did everything to prove the opposite, she was unfortunately a woman. One who he couldn't care less about.
He cussed silently as he climbed the stairs in frustration. He really did not want to be here. He wanted to find Cassandra. But Pamela had been so persistent that it had made him curious, and above all, suspicious. Knowing Pamela all but too well, he knew that it was always the same old song and dance with her, as her family's 'ways' always had a tendency to shine through.
Ignoring the doorbell, he landed his clenched fist on the door several times, making it judder under his touch. Tapping his finger on the surface he could hear someone move towards the door from the inside. The next second he stood face to face with Pamela.
"Billy!" she exclaimed with excitement, a calculated smile upon her lips. "Please, come in."
Billy gave her what was supposed to be a smile, but it felt more like a strained grimace, like when you have eaten something sour. He stepped into her apartment reluctantly and gazed around.
"So, you have renovated, huh?" he said bluntly as he noticed that work had been done in there. And it looked like it had been done quite recently in fact. Billy stopped and examined the passage into the living room. "Any other alterations made?" he asked with a low sinister voice," You know that Theo is going to go mental over this, as I take it that you have not asked his permission, huh?"
"N-o. . ." Pamela huffed out with a pout of her lips, knowing full well that she was lying when saying that, "Nothing more has been done. Seriously Billy, not even a hello?" she sighed loudly, " This section was so depressing in its design that I 'had' to do something about it. I did not think I would have to ask Theo in that matter, " she continued with a fake consternation and closed the space between them by stepping up close to him, "Don't you like the changes I have made?"
Billy flinched and backed away one small step, taking a long look at her. He wasn't sure whether she meant the apartment or herself when referring to the changes that had been made. He was genuinely surprised that Pamela could look as good as she actually did now.
She had made some real effort he could tell. Her hair looked like she had stepped out from a hair salon just a moment ago, her make-up was not as smeary as it usually was and the clothes she wore he had actually never seen before. He scrunched his nose as he held his hands in front of himself to stop her from coming closer.
"What I like or do not like, doesn't matter in this case Pamela, " he told her with a slight sneer, "You know that this is Theo's place. Okay it's just an apartment, but never the less; he does not take things lightly if someone changes stuff without his knowledge."
Ignoring his words, Pamela placed one of her hands gently on his chest, feeling his muscles ripple beneath it. Her eyes searched for his and she fluttered her lashes seductively at him with a sweet smile on her lips. As she invited him further into the apartment her thoughts went to Cassie who was in the back room behind her bedroom.
