[The picture at the top is of the first book cover I had for this story. It was the book cover before I stupidly deleted the story, so you may recognize it if you read this story before I deleted it.]

A group of men sat around a rectangular dark wood table in the middle of a conference room. They all stared at the 60 inch flat screen TV mounted on the wall.

"Now we are down to the top two, and one of them is about to win an incredible recording contract with Syco music! For the winner the life they've been dreaming of is about to become real! PLEASE WELCOME BACK, THE X-FACTOR'S TOP TWO, 5 MINUTES AT A TIME!!!!" The lights flashed and the smoke grew as three girls walked on stage.

All three held microphones. A beat of a marching drum played. With the sound of an electric guitar to accompany the catchy rhythm.

The music started to build up until one of the three girls with dark chocolate brown hair and a cherubic round face began the song.

"This one's for the beaten down

The ones who lost their rock and roll!" As the camera focused on the girl, the group name '5 Minutes At A Time' appeared on the screen along with 'June Peters' in smaller font underneath the group name. Her voice was relatively high and it sounded like her vocal range could go farther than she was showing with her small part. The second girl had dirty blonde hair and captivating blue eyes, she picked up the ending part of the lyrics from June, "Rise up you lost ones, claim your crown

You were born to rock inside your soul!" Her voice was strong but sounded a bit lower than the first. Yet she too sounded vocally talented. The name under the group name changed to 'Emma Brits' before the camera shifted over to the third girl.

"Welcome misfits, orphans, all

The ones who feel they don't belong

You were made to rock, so stand up tall

Go rock the world and prove them wrong!" She had a bit of a raspier yet also strong voice, very similar to Emma's voice with the difference that her voice sounded more raw and rustic. It also showed in her appearance that she had a more edgy style from her chestnut brown hair with red dipped ends, to the black biker boots she had chosen to wear with her little black dress. The name on the screen changed to 'Samantha Hobbs' .

For a split second the music seemed to die before an explosion of sound came and all three girls sang the chorus.

"Rock what you got

Rock what you got

Don't ever let them make you stop

Rock what you got

Light up the lot

No one can rock the way you rock!" Although all three girls sounded very good, their harmony was a bit off because the only ones that were in harmony were Emma and Sam. June's voice was too high pitched to really fit in with Emma and Sam's lower voice.

"This one's for originals

Who strike out towards the great unknown

Fear not the missteps, take the falls

The rock you find will be your own." June and Sam sang this verse together, almost as if they were trying to combine their voices to have a medium in-between. Yet, it didn't work because you could still hear the difference in pitch. It didn't sound bad, Sam's voice was the foundation for June's smooth high voice that highlighted parts of the verse.
