Chapter 10: The Date

Cassie's POV:

As we walked down the cobblestone sidewalk I felt something warm slide into my hand. I looked down at mine and Phil's hands intertwined together. I looked up at Phil's face he was staring forward, a happy expression on his face. I smiled and looked back at Dan and Luna. They really made a cute couple together. I didn't see why she didn't want to tell anyone but me and Phil. I mean, maybe she didn't want any attention. She always kept her relationships to herself and really the only person who she would tell would be me. I just set that thought aside for now. We entered a restaurant called 'The Clarion' (I don't even know if that is a restaurant) When we walked in I was stunned. Fancy tables, chairs, plus a big chandelier in the middle of the room. I looked at Luna and she had the same facial expression as me. A girl came up to us, probably a waitress.

"Hello, welcome to The Clarion. Do you have a reservation?" Dan looked up at her with wide eyes. Did he know her?

Dan's POV:

"Hello, welcome to The Clarion. Do you have a reservation?" I looked up at the waitress. My eyes widened and I felt my palms get sweaty when I realized who she was. Bridgette, my ex-girlfriend. If this isn't awkward I don't know what is. She looked at me and smiled. How was she not acting awkward in this situation. Luna came up and stood beside me. 

"Dan? Are you okay?" I looked back down at her and it felt like everything was normal. I will just play it cool. I don't know who she is. 

"Oh sorry yeah, for Dan Howell."

"Alright Mr.Howell right this way please." she started walking towards an empty table in the middle section of the room. We sat down at the round table. As I sat down, Bridgette have me a glare like she was mad. I looked at Luna across the table and she didn't look very enthusiastic like she was. She looked mad but also confused and worried at the same time. I raised an eyebrow at her and she shook her head at me like nothing was wrong but, I knew something was. I looked back at Bridgette and as she walked away leaving 4 menus at the table, she walked towards the hallway the bathrooms were. She looked back at me and tilted her head at me, gesturing for me to follow. I didn't respond for about a half an hour and I didn't see her exciting from the hallway. Finally, I had enough and I gave in.

"Hey guys, I'll be right back" I said as I started walking towards the hallway. As I took footsteps closer to to the hallway I could hear the music of the restaurant slowly fade away and the words of people turn into muffled voices. As I turned the corner I got pulled into a bathroom by someone, but do I have to call it someone I knew it was Bridgette. I looked up at her. She had me pinned against the wall, her hands on my arms. 

"What do you w-" I was cut off by her lips crashing into mine. I felt her grip on my arms loosen. I pushed her off and yelled in her face.

"What the hell Bridgette!" She was about to yell back at me but she darted her eyes at the door. I looked back at what she was looking at. Luna was stood there, tears in her eyes. I tried to explain but she cut me off.

"How could you? HOW COULD YOU DAN?" She yelled at me. Then she ran out. I ran after her calling after her but, she wouldn't look back. Phil was standing at the doorway with a takeout box in his hand. I stopped at the door in front of him. He gave me a questioned look but he retreated his eyes to something behind me. His look went from confused to mad in a matter of seconds. I looked back and saw Bridgette smirking at me. I got so mad. Not only did she make me seem like an ass but she also was happy about it. Wow, why did I even date her? I retreated my eyes to Luna and Cassie walking down the street. Cassie was chasing after Luna while Luna had her hands covering her eyes. I felt so bad. I felt horrible. 

"What was that about? Plus what happened with Bridgette?" Phil said in an angry tone but also caring. I looked back at him. He had his eyes on me for a second then he looked back at Bridgette.

"Let's go home I'll explain on the way there."
