Chapter 13: The Takening

Luna's POV

I stood there, breathless. Jake was standing in the living room with a bat in his hands and a syringe with a light blue liquid in it. I backed away as he walked towards me. I started running up the stairs remembering there was a fire escape but was pulled back. His arm wrapped around my neck and his other hand holding the syringe. I struggled to pull away but it was useless. Jake's grip tightened on my neck. Tears formed in my eyes as he stuck the syringe into my arm. My vision went black and everything went upside down. The only thing I remembered was seeing Cassie walk down the stairs and scream. Then everything went black.

Jake's POV

I dropped Luna on the ground and ran after Cassie. As I ran up the stairs Cassie tripped on a step and fell. (I was actually walking up the stairs and fell while writing this so, my inspiration xD) I grabbed her arm and pulled her up. She struggled to get out but my grasp on her was too strong. I pulled out a back up syringe with black liquid in it. It would erase her memory of what just happened. I jeld her head up and injected the liquid into her neck. She stopped squriming and fell into a deep sleep. I walked her up the stairs and into her room. I set her sleeping body on the bed and walked back down stairs. Great, she was still asleep. I picked her up and walked out the door. I walked down the stairs worried about what I just did but, there was no time to worry right now. I had the one I love with me. She doesn't even love you. 'Don't you remember what happened.' thoughts ran through my head as I walked to my car. I opened the door and set her down on the seat. I walked around and opened the door for myself. I got in and atarted driving. I needed to get as far away from here as possible.

-*Time skip to the next day*-

Cassie's POV

When I woke up I heard talking coming from downstairs. Was Luna on the phone? As I walked down the steps the voices became more vivid.

"When was the last time you saw her?" a man's voice echoed into the hallway. "Well we were on a date yesterday we cane back around 8 or 9" I heard Dan's voice. "Okay would we be able to..." shuffling of paper was all I heard until the man's voice started again. "Cassie Bowman?" the unfamiliar voice said.

"What happened? Is everything okay?" I interrupted from the hallway. I saw Dan standing there, his face stained with tears and eyes red. Also, a police officer with some papers in his hand. Dan walked up to mse slowly and hugged me. Despite the soft sobbs of him he spoke.

"Cassie. Luna was...." he paused for a minute sobbing into my shoulder. "Kidnapped." he said sobbing loudly into my shoulder. I didn't know what to say or do. I was frozen. Kidnapped? How? I needed Phil.

"Where is Phil?" tears running down my face. Dan pulled away from the hug but I wish he hadn't. He looked horrible. Red eyes, pale skin, tear track down his cheeks, and I didn't want to see him like this. Just by lookinf at him I could tell, he generally cared about Luna and now...she's gone.
