For days, Daemon Targaryen has been trying to think of ideas on how to gain the trust of all the lords and make peace again in the Riverlands. He knows wisely that this is what he could do for Aelora, like a band-aid on the wounds. But he also knew that he was powerless. If he were King, he would have just said the word and made peace. But now he was not, or Lord Grover Tully could powerfully order everyone to gather and make peace with him and put an end to Blackwood and Bracken. But then there is also the Queen who can perform this deed. But now no one had heard from Aelora about her whereabouts. If she ever comes here. Daemon sometimes thought about what Alys Rivers said before about her coming by, and what would he do then? Could he get the chance to talk to her again and apologize? Would she ever want to see him again at all? He must be forgiven, he must be allowed to come home again. His family is waiting for him too. Daemon knows that Rhaenyra is probably angry with him too. He betrayed her again now by leaving her alone with the enemy. Daemon stalled the time by keeping up with work and helping to rebuild the castle in better condition at least and a little bit of everything in between. Meanwhile, Daemon stood in the middle of an open hall and axed logs for the castle. Hands ached and his body was handling hard work. He had a few wounds here and there on his body as a sign of hard work and toil.
One thing he didn't know like many others was about Garrett Rivers and his sneaky ambush. He had tried several times to get hold of Blackwood himself and but no word had come to him or visit him. He wanted to fly over to Raventree Hall on Caraxes and scare him, but Ser Simon convinced him that it was not good if his Dragon was going to attack. The whole of Riverrun is overrun with horrors, that didn't scare Daemon one bit. But Ser Simon is convinced again that he probably knows most of the Riverlands about who started the terrible fighting and pillaging of the people. Daemon did not want to bother with such exaggerations, but he was persuaded and became more hopeless with his affairs. If there was something that could help him on the trot and give him the chance of redemption someday. Daemon continued to chop wood while he heard terrible people's sounds around him in the air, he can admit that he has heard those screams for several days now for a month. But he knew again from the sounds that they were the foreboding sounds of war and destruction. Soldiers pillaging and taking their hunger out on the people with violence. Daemon turned for a moment and discovered that the strange woman Alys Rivers was looking after him across a hall above him. She went her way and Daemon looked around again and wondered about her ways from her vicinity and later continued to his work. Daemon had chopped a number of firewood and loaded them onto a cart and headed for the nearest freight elevator that would transport them up to his floors for the evening heat. Daemon loaded the wood into the elevator and called for the man who could hoist it up. Alys' presence was suddenly in his vicinity again.
