This is a poem I want to dedicate to Scott Holly, one of my friends who passed away this summer when he commited suicide. Even though I left that part of my life behind, I still went to the service and mourned him. RIP Scott Holly. Still miss you every day.
Suicide is not the way,
Yet you killed yourself today.
I hope this endeavor,
Has made your pain better.
This doesn't make you weak,
You're not viewed as the ground beneath my feet.
You are strong, and you are brave,
Even as you lie in a grave
You saw the darkness of the world,
Realized everything wasn't so great.
Maybe you're the only smart one here,
Everyone else is stuck in hopeless monotony.
Today I will grieve, for my fallen friend,
And hope it was worth it in the end.
Today the world is quiet,
For a newly departed.
