Loki's cuddle was interrupted by a caw at his window. "That was fast," he commented as he moved to open the window, reluctantly letting Morgan go to do so. Munin and Hugin both fluttered in, both looking tired from the long flight, especially Munin, who had just made it twice. Munin practically crashed into Loki's arms, she was so exhausted. Loki caught her immediately and cradled her to his chest protectively. "Thanks, Mu," he told her warmly, gently. "Come on, let's get you and Hu settled."
Morgan stayed out of his way and let Loki tend the birds. She poured tea for them, regardless if they could actually drink it. It was at least something for her to do with her hands. Munin gave him a soft chirp of gratitude from where Loki held her. Loki smiled softly at Morgan. "Apologies for dumping all of that onto you," he said softly. "Would you like to meet Hugin?"
"It's alright" Morgan reassured him. She nodded and agreed to meet the other raven.
Loki introduced her to Hugin, who had been Thor's guardian. "Father sent you both?"
Hugin trilled an agreement. Munin shifted back to human form when she had caught her breath. "He thought if you needed me then Thor would need Hugin"
Loki helped her into a chair the second she was human again. "Well, that gives you both a couple of weeks to recuperate. Hu, when you're feeling better, you can go check in on Thor. He'll be glad to see you."
Hugin trilled tiredly and fluttered off to go find Thor and peck him until he gave her food. "Your mother is working on getting us reassigned," Munin told Loki
Loki smiled. "Good. You deserve the break. Both of you do."
Munin gave him a tired little trill. Morgan brought over the tea for them. "Should I have dad set up rooms for them?"
Loki nodded and accepted the tea, handing Munin hers, doting on her like he only ever did with Morgan or his Mother. "We'd appreciate that. Mu is like a really well loved aunt to me. I can't see her and Hu like this without doing something about it."
Morgan gave him a gentle smile. "I'll take care of it" she promised
Loki ran a gentle, affectionate hand over her hair. "Thank you, milady."
Morgan purred softly and headed out to bug her dad into giving the valkyrie rooms
Loki watched her go. "How in Hel did I get lucky enough to be her friend?"
Munin laughed. She'd gleaned a lot from watching the pair's interactions. "I don't think she gave you a choice,"
Loki chuckled. "She really didn't. She just looked at me one second, and the next one, I was hers."
Munin laughed "Such a hardship for you" she teased
Loki laughed, blushing softly. "She's too pure for this world, that's for sure."
It wasn't long before Morgan returned to tell Loki the sleeping arrangements. Munin would have one of the spare rooms on Loki's floor and Hugin would have one on Thor's. Loki smiled softly at Morgan. He couldn't hide his feeling for her from his expression. "Thank you, kit," he said warmly.
Morgan gave him a warm smile "I'll let you catch up with your friend," there was no jealousy in her gaze. Yes, Loki cared for the Valkyrie, but it really was as family, not romantically.
Loki nodded and gently kissed her hair. "Good night, Lady Morgan."
"Goodnight, Lokes,"
Loki held open his door for her so she could leave. She'd been so understanding and kind to him. He didn't feel like he deserved any of it, especially not from her. Morgan headed up to bed, her tail swishing adorably. Loki smiled softly and made sure she was safe before he closed his door.
