Ash's pov

" Ash wake up!" Jace yelled opening the door to her room and looking inside.  "What?" I asked reaching for my seraph blade under my  pillow. Jace laughed " It's your birthday silly no need for weapons." I let out a relieved sigh "oh." I said " You had me panicking there for a second." I told him. He laughed and told me to get up.

I walked down the hall with Jazz by my side and dad trailing behind us. "Where is Jem?" I asked as we were walking by his room. Then right on cue he popped out of his room and yelled boo. I didn't even flinch, I just kept walking. Jazz smirked "Told you she wouldn't flinch" she said "Never does" Jem said sounding defeated. "Exactly bro because she just awesome like that." Jazz and I both laughed then looked at each other. "Stop it." We said at the same time in a flattered tone.

We walked into the library and everyone was there. Alec walked up to me and gave me a hug "Happy Birthday Ash" he said. "Thanks" I said and walked over and sat down by Jazz and Jem. Dad and mom sat together on the other side of the room. Magnus and Alec sat together and so did Izzy and Simon. They all sang happy birthday and I started opening my gifts. From Magnus and Alec I got a glitter brush and socks that said glitter in all caps. From Simon and Izzy some more gear. From Jem a pair of joggers. I gave a huge thanks to him because they are my favorite pants ever. From mom and dad more gear and joggers and a pair of Jordan's. I gave them both a hug and thanked them. Dad then stood up and grabbed something from his back pocket. As I looked I seen it was a dagger. The hilt a black marble color mixed with blue. Dad handed it to me, I took it and looked at it in awe as I realized my initials were carved into the hilt. I looked at dad and he had a huge smile on his face I jumped out of my chair and gave him a huge hug " So do you like it?" he asked "No" I said. Then he had a confused look on his face "What?" He asked " I absaloutly love it" I said with a huge smile on my face. With that he grinned and we both sat down. Next Jazz looked at me with an impossibly huge smile on her face. I looked back at her with a smile on my face as well. "Ash you are my best friend" she said " and you will always be until the day we both take our last breaths." I nodded my head knowing what she said was 100% true. "So I decided to ask you this on your birthday. Ash will you please be my parabatai?" She asked "Omg of course I will be your parabatai. She stood up and hugged me "I knew you would say yes!" She said. I looked around the room and everybody was grinning especially my dad. Then Izzy came in carrying a cake. "Don't worry I bought it from the store." We all let out a relieved sigh. "Thank the angel" Jem said and we all laughed. Magnus lit the 14 candles and I made a wish and blew them out. We all ate a piece and went to our rooms.
