chapter 7

Ethan's POV
"being in the ICU waiting for amber to wake up is terrifying" I thought.
Jace hasn't shown up. I don't know why, he really cared about her.

Ambers POV
"where am I?" I thought.
I looked around, I'm in a white, misty place.
"Amber!" I heard a familiar voice call.
I turned around, "Cassie!" ran and hugged her.
"listen to me. it's not your time, you are to keep living. you can not die, do you hear me? I need you to keep living this life for me, even if it's hard. I'm always with you. I love you amber."

I shot up, sweating, and crying.
"Amber! are you okay?!" ethan said.
"yeah..just a dream."
he nodded.
"w-where's jace." I said shakily.
"I don't know.." he said.
ethan walked out and called him.

Jace's POV
my phone rang, it was ethan.
"hello." I said.
"where the hell are you?! she just woke up and one of the first things she asked was where you were and I couldn't tell her because I don't know!"
"look. I don't wanna be around her. not right now. okay?" I said.
"you're such an ass, jace. you're such an ass." he said and hung up.

Ambers POV
I walked back in the room.
"well..?" I said.
"he said he doesn't wanna be around you." he answered.
my heart dropped..what does he mean?
I started crying, now what am I supposed to do?
"hey, don't cry. he just needs time, he'll be back." ethan said crawling in bed next to me.
"shh. it's okay."
"please God..please don't take jace from me..he's all I have left. I need him back."
that was my last thought, before I drifted to sleep.
