Chapter Two:

"This, is Sandra. And she is my girlfriend."

The words were ringing in her head like a bell. Was this real? Did Marco Reus actually call her his girlfriend? She felt like she could barely think properly, but the one thought that came across her head was 'This boy will never be able to think things through'.

"Right, Sandra? Sandra?" Marco asked, snapping Sandra out of her little trance.

"Huh?" Asked Sandra, confused with what was going on.

"I was just telling Nina about how we met, and then you spaced out for a while. Are you okay, baby? Do you need to sit down?" For a moment, Marco actually did seem worried to why she spaced out, but then the look in his eyes was soon replaced with 'Please just go with my plan, okay?!'. Plus, Sandra was a little worried to what his "how we met" story was, and definitely curious to find out how ridiculous it would be.

"Oh I'm fine, sweetie." Sandra shot him a fake-sweet smile, you know, the one that your mother would give you when she's mad at you in public but doesn't want to show it to other people. "I'm just a little wheezy from the... hunger."

"Oh, I am so sorry!" Nina exclaimed to Sandra, catching her completely off guard. "I guess Marco and I have been chatting for too long, right? Just go sit wherever you would like, and hey! Since Marco now has a girlfriend, why I don't I join you guys, to get to know you more! I'll be right back!" And Nina was off, walking away to the reception.

Sandra thought it was actually quite hasty and rude that she had invited herself over to her and Marco's dinner, but then she realised that she had bigger problems to deal with Marco at the moment. "What the hell, Marco?!" Sandra whispered-yelled at him as soon as they settled into a three-seated table.

"Okay, I can explain!" Marco replied with a worried look on his face. "Nina is the love of my life, Sandra. I don't know what went through my mind when I said that, it just came out. Something held me back from saying I was single. Listen, just pretend to be my girlfriend for tonight, you'll never see her ever again after this." Marco pleaded with a puppy dog look on his face.

Sandra sighed in frustration. This boy had been the start of her problems since today afternoon. "Fine. Only for tonight only." She muttered as she shot him a venomous look.

Just then, Nina walked over to the table and pulled out the empty chair. "So, Sandra was it?" Nina asked politely.

"Yes." She replied back. Sandra was confused to why Nina could pronounce her name but Marco couldn't. "And you are?"

"Nina Costello, co-owner of this restaurant."

"How do you and Marco know each other?" Sandra asked, trying to make conversation, oblivious to the nervous Marco sitting beside her.

"Well...that's a good question really. Marco, would you like to explain?" Nina chuckled as she recalled the stories of her and Marco together.

"Um, Nina and I used to be lovers. I was completely and utterly devoted to her, but then she left me." Marco said absent-mindedly. "... and then I found you." He added and looked to Sandra with a small smile, but she knew that it had to be fake.

"I'm sorry that I just cut contact, Marco. The truth is, I thought you were still in love with me, and I couldn't risk that happening to our friendship." Nina apologized, taking Marco's hands in her own as a plea of forgiveness.

Sandra couldn't help but notice the visible view of Nina's busting cleavage and she felt highly annoyed at that. But why did that bother her? She had seen many girls like this before, and why did this one in particular bother her so much?
