Chapter Nine:

They had reached Dortmund the next day in a hasty three-hour flight. The cold German weather was contrasting immensely to what they had felt in warm Portugal.

Sandra on the other hand, was frantically sending messages to her Uncle to check-in on Felix without having to worry about roaming charges.

She was still a bit distant from Marco after what had happened the night before, and immediately after she woke up the day before, she had rushed to her room and stayed there until it was time to leave the hotel, leaving Marco in complete confusion.

Sandra cursed herself for completely disobeying her own rules of staying professional and not fraternizing with her client. She let herself go for just a few days and look what had happened? Sandra even considered quitting her job because she was so ashamed of herself, but then she snapped back into reality and realized how stupid she was acting.

As she walked through the terminals of the Dortmund airport by herself, Pierre ran up and caught up with her, surprising Sandra. "Hey, what are you doing tonight?" Pierre asked non-chalantly.

"I think I'll just stay at home and rest for the night." Sandra replied.

"Erik is having a party at his place, you know where his house is right? Just by the stadium with huge glass windows? You should come, it's gonna be really fun." Pierre asked nicely.

Sandra appreciated the gesture he gave. It's been a while since anyone has invited her to a party platonically. "Thank you Pierre, that's very nice of you to ask, but I think I'm just going to stay at home and rest my head; Lord knows I need it."

Pierre flashed her a carefree grin. "No worries, I totally understand. You take care!" He replied cheerfully and walked back to join his teammates.

Sandra brought down her smile and decided to leave the airport and just go back home without telling Marco; he didn't own her, why should he keep her on a leash?

Once she had reached the apartment building that she was now living at, she took a deep breath before walking inside to find her new apartment, or Marco's apartment that she would be living in with him. To her surprise, she opened the key to the door to find Felix and her Uncle sitting down in Marco's living room, for what seemed like waiting for Sandra to arrive.

"Uncle Silva? What are you doing here? How did you get in?" Sandra asked in confusion. This was Marco's apartment, so how on Earth did her Uncle manage to get inside.

"Reus gave me a spare key before you guys left in case of an emergency." He explained, walking towards his niece to give her a warm hug. "So how was your first trip with the team?" Uncle asked, smiling warmly.

"It was..." Sandra trailed off, trying to find the right word to describe it. "It was fine. Nothing too special."

"Well, lucky for you, the next Champions League match will be at Dortmund, so you won't have to travel as much."

"Thank Dios." Sandra sighed in relief, and then walked towards Felix, who was sitting by the couch waiting for her to greet him.

"Hey baby, how are you? How was everything while I was away?" She exclaimed in Spanish, picking him up and kissing his cheek.

"It was okay, I missed you though! This new house we're living in is really cool." Felix said smiling gleefully as he looked around Marco's apartment.

"Speaking of which, I should get going. Marco will be here soon as well I suppose." Uncle Silva interrupted, placing the spare key on the counter and walking towards the door. "And also Sandra, don't get into too much trouble." He teased, and closed the front door behind him.
