Rule number five . I had to be in the house by six O'Clock and if it was dark and hour before.
My mother only stuck to this rule because all the other mothers on the estate did . She told little Lydia that scary things lurked around in the dark so that meant that I always wanted to keep this rule but after Mr+Mrs Whittemore convinced my mother to let me stay at Jackson's 15th birthday party until 8 i fell in love with the night . Possibly more than i loved Jackson. The way the moon was your only light the way the animals came out into the dark and how the stars hung beautifully above. Thats when this rule became almost impossible to keep . How could you see the world at night if i had to be inside when it was still light ?
Thats what i was looking forward to - staying out at night past 6 O'Clock
