The 16th rule of my mothers was to bever mention her in a bad situation.
Once Allison told the head teacher that it was okay not to do homework because who needs brains when we have looks - the head wasnt impressed and neither was my mother
"Lydia, so you admit to breaking the law of privacy . For sneaking male outsiders inside the estate fence?" Asks the police man who had cuffed my wrists together . I stay silent until he asks about what my mother + what she would think
"My mother is the whole reason" i blurt and instantly regret it . I clamp my hand round my mouth in order for me not to say anything else. The cuffs digged deeper into my skin as i sat crossed legged on the floor of the jail cell. It smelt of abtibacterial wipes and every now and then you would get a wiff of tuna from the mouldy sandwich that the policeman on duty was eating
"So whats going to happen to Stiles?" I asked the policeman who wasnt eating the sandwich and was tapping his pen upon his desk
"Who? The outsider? Oh well he could be prisioned if Mr+Mrs McCall press charges" he informs
"Are you sure youd rather sit here than ring your mother and she can take you home?" Says the sandwich eating policeman holding out his phone
"I said no , okay ?" I snap rubbing my leather jacket for comfort
