sooo no cliffhangers today.. sorry about the long wait, I've had not a lot of time to write..
“Ready?” I hear Chad ask me as I make my way out of my room as I put on the necklace my dad got me.
“Yeah,” I blush; knowing that it is my first date with Chad. “Where are we going anyways?”
“For dinner, thought it might be a good place for a first date.”
“Perfect,” I grin, actually wanting to just go and watch a movie at his house on a couch somewhere.
He takes my hand and leads me to his truck. My hair flows behind me as he speeds up and we run to his truck in a fit of giggles. Once we are buckled in, he blasts the country station on his radio and drives to the diner.
“Really, country?” I laugh at him.
“Yes really, you know you love it,” he winks at me and I just roll my eyes at him, ignoring the sound coming from the speakers.
“No, I really don’t,” I retort with a bit of an edge to my voice. “Sorry,” I apologize as I lower my voice, letting all anger seep out of me.
“It’s okay,” Chad sighs and I look over to him. His eyebrows are scrunched together, creating creases in his forehead, making it look like he is thinking something over.
“What are you thinking about?”
“Nothing,” he states as he glances out the window. Whatever he sees out the window must have irritated him because I see his jaw clench and his fists tighten around the steering wheel.
“What was that?” I turn around in my seat as I try to look out the back of the truck at what he was glaring at; I was able to see nothing.
“Oh nothing,” he breathes out between his clenched teeth.
“I’m sure it was nothing.”
“It was, just drop it,” Chad demands and I just glower at him, crossing my arms across my chest.
“You’re not the boss of me,” I snap back at him childishly.
“I know but I’m serious, just drop it.”
“Whatever,” I roll my eyes at him and climb out of the truck as soon as it stops.
I hear Chad sigh loudly before he catches up to me. “Look, I’m sorry, it really was nothing, just forget about it and let’s have a good first date, please?”
“Fine,” I breathe as I stare him in the eyes and smile back at him.
He grabs my hand and intertwines his fingers with mine, pulling me into the diner. Immediately he heads for a booth near the window so we can watch the people walking by. A girl about sixteen saunters up to us with a smile on her face. She has light blonde hair with a light brown underneath. Reading her nametag, I notice her name is ‘Anastasia’.
“Chad, I haven’t seen you around here lately,” she greets him warmly and sends a genuine smile in my direction.
“I know, it’s been really busy at Marley’s lately,” he tells her glancing over at me before going back to look at her.
“Yeah that’s what everyone has been saying. He’s getting ready for something big apparently.”
“That’s right, but can we just get two burgers and two cokes?”
“Yup, coming right up,” she scurries off and as soon as she is gone I miss her niceness and warm smile.
“She seems nice,” I sigh.
