I looked over at August as he tossed and turned while still asleep. It was now nine thirty two a.m but I couldn't sleep. All i could do was stare at the ceiling and think about what we had to do in less than fourteen hours.

I pecked August lips then put on my robe to head out on the balcony. As i leaned on the rails, I grew angry. I was so tired of not having the life I deserve. As soon as I feel a pinch of happiness, it's all taken away from me.Even when I did my dirt, I was never punished this much.

"Whatchu' doin out hea'." I felt August hands wrap around my waist as he rested his chin on my shoulder.

"Just thinking." I closed my eyes and inhaled his scent. He must have heard me get out of bed.

"About what?"

"Today." I turned around to face him. "August Im scared. I don't want to fail. What if we don't-"

"Shhhh. Don't talk like that. We gon' be aite and we gon' make it home afta' all this shit over and done wid' ya' heard me?"

"Ok." I nodded. "I want you to know that I'm for you. I love you and I'm never gonna give you a reason to doubt me again."

"You sho'?"

"On my life."

He kissed my forehead and pulled me into a hug. I layed on his chest and listened to the rhythm of his heartbeat while he brought a hand up to my chest.

"You hea' that?"

"Your heartbeat?" I asked.

"Listen closer ma'."

I did as he said and smiled once I heard it. Our heartbeats were in sync.

"The first night we spent ta'getha, I noticed it. Our hearts beat as one ma'. When you hurt, I feel it. I feel you. That's why we so connected. As fucked up as everything was that went down, it was meant to happen. We were meant fa' eachother."

I nodded. "I know."

We hugged again but slowly pulled away when we heard a light knock on the door. We both walked towards the door then August looked through the peephole.

"It's Sky...and Amir." He said.

I nodded, giving him the ok to open the door.

"Good Morning y'all." Sky spoke.

We both spoke back then focused our attention on Amir as he looked at August then quickly buried his face in Sky's neck.

"Natasha, I need to talk to you. Amir, do you think you can stay with August for a minute while me and mommy talk?" Sky asked.

Amir nodded his head without a word then got down and headed to the small chair in the corner.

"Are you going to be ok with him?" I asked August. After the incident with Rome, I knew Amir felt uneasy around August.

"Yeh, I got it."

I leaned in to kiss him but decided against it because Amir was watching.

"I won't be long." I whispered before following Sky out.

I closed tha' do' and took a deep breath befo' turning around. I was nervous. The last time Amir saw me, I was covered in that bitch nigga Rome's blood. I have ta' get him ta' see that I'm not a bad person.
