Front porch step- if I tremble

-A month and a half time skip-
Summer time was finally here.
Oliver was getting used to being around me. He even agreed to share the bed, however he refuses to change his clothes. I have to wash them every two days.

Journal entry #1:
He's dependent.
I understand considering he's never had to do normal day to day things by himself.
He also makes me wash his hair.
(He hates getting soap in his eyes.)
He loves television. (Modern family/ Steven Universe/ Gravity falls/Clarence . He hates Gumball and uncle grandpa
He's in love with lasagna. We've had it once a week.
(He sings arctic monkeys song ru mine? As I cook.)

When we sleep he ABSOLUTELY insists on wearing slippers to bed.

He listens to instrumentals, blues, A ton of Elvis, arctic monkeys, no hard rock (it makes his ears uncomfortable.)
.
If he's in pain give him warm tea with lemon and honey.

Today while Oliver is sleeping I slowly creep out of the house to pick him up a few things.

-Grocery list-
*Peaches
*Vanilla ice cream
*Tea
*Eggs
*Lasagna noodles (3)
*Cheese
*Ricotta cheese
*Spinach
*A new tooth brush for Oliver
*A new pack of white t shirts
*Boxers
*Dark green memory foam slippers

Getting to the grocery store I head to the pasta isle to pick up our weekly necessities.

I hurried home and carried in all the groceries. I walked in the bedroom and he was in the corner crying.

I dropped the things I got him and ran to him "Hey hey hey, shhhh. "He latched on to me. I picked him up and carried him on my hip.

"Shhhh what's the matter, I'm here" He sniffled

"I got scared, I woke up and you were gone. " I pet his back.

He looked at me with those big black eyes.

"I was just at the store, I got you a few things. " His eyes shined bright like onyx.

We sat on the floor together and I held up the new clothes.

"Look, New slippers, new clothes."
He smiled that adorable toothy grin.

"Thank you, Austin. That was very considerate of you."
He removed the old slippers and put his feet in my lap.

I slipped them on and his eyes twinkled.

I gave him the shirts and the boxers. He was a little sceptical at first.

"I'll give you a few drawers to store them in. I just think you should have more of a variety in the week. "
He nodded and gave me a big hug.
He kissed my cheek.

He pressed his hand to my chest and giggled.

"Calm down Austin, your heart beat is 115 rpm. And you need to eat. Your sugar is getting low. " he removed his hand. I hugged his waist.

"You're so smart, baby." I said in his chest.

He rubbed my back.
"Yes , thank you."

He was growing on me as well. He was such a lovely boy.

We made dinner (lasagna tonight.) He always ate like he was savoring each bite. It was kinda cute.
"Austin, who is Michelle?" He shattered my thoughts.

I didn't know what to say.

"When I put my hand to your chest...your brain had thousands of memories of the two of you. Was she your wife?"
I shook my head

"No, she was just someone I dated. She wasn't my wife. " he reached his hand across the table, wrapping his tiny fingers into my fist.

He smiled "If you ever just want to talk about anything... let me know. "

I smiled and nodded.

We layed in bed and watched cartoons.
I think Steven Universe. He looked at me and smiled "Who's your favorite?"

I smiled "Hmmm. Maybe Garnet."

He turned his head and continued to watch until I heard his soft snores fill the room. I turned the tv off and scooped him off the edge of the bed. I layed him close into my chest. He wrapped his around my arm and put it over his waist.

"Goodnight." He whispered.
