Go radio- Goodnight moon.

Shit.

I got up to check on the cinnamon rolls.

"Ju-just wanted to know if you knew I was making you some cinnamon rolls. " I showed him the pan.

"Ah.. my favorite. They uh- they look good, Oliver."
The compliment took me back.

"You're welcome. They'll be done in a jiff. " he left. I sat the pan On the table.

I filled an icing bag with the strawberry topping and another bag with The sweet cream.

I grabbed the serving tray and placed the rolls on Austin's floral cookie plates.

"I'll be back, " I said to Beez and Loki.

Alucard and the twins sat in the dining room at the long dinner table.

"I've got breakfast. " I smiled setting the tray down. I placed each of them a plate in front of them.

As I was setting down Alucards plate he grabbed my wrist.

"Oliver, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being so rude." I lifted his chin.

"Alucard, it's okay. I understand." I smiled at him. I let his chin go.

I filled the sink up with dishes.

I grabbed the house phone and called Austin.

He picked up on the second ring.

"Good Afternoon, Mr. Carlile." I said through the phone.

"Hi honey. How's everything going with the family?" He was eating still lunch.

"Good. I'm just getting some dishes done. " I ran some hot water and put some soap in.

"Ooh, honey you need to tell me what you want. I'll pick up your gifts as soon as I get out. I'm gonna probably cut today short. " He muffled through bites of his sandwich.

I'm so excited for him to come home.

"Well, darling I'm not sure. Just get me something you'd think I would like. Alright, I miss you. Drive safe. "

"I love you Oliver." He made a kiss noise through the phone.

"I love you too, pumpkin. " I kissed back.

I hung up the phone and put on rubber gloves.

*Austin's Pov*
I let my last two classes have a free day.

As soon as I made it to the parking lot I rushed into the car.

I drove on the main road where all the stores and malls were. I pulled into a vintage shop.

I think he'd like something unique. When I went inside it seemed like it hadnt had much business in a while. It smelled like dust and old Popery. The store was small and dimly lit.

The old man at the counter had a weak smile and shaky hands as he waved.
I went up to the counter and offered him a smile.

"Good evening sir, I was just looking for something for my significant other... it's his birthday " he smiled and waved
"come with me, son."

We headed to a section with old clothing and hats.

He looked up at me. "Please. Look around. I'll be at the counter if you need me."

He left. I searched through all the shelves and I found a pair of funeral slippers. Morbid.

The were a pearl color and the had a dainty bow in the center.

I grabbed them and I wandered farther into the back. I found a record player and a type writer. I grabbed them both.

He should like this.

As I made it back to the counter I saw a pearl necklace in the display case that I knew I had to get it for him.

I raced home and quickly with full arms made it into the house.
I followed the voices to the dining room. There they all were. The table was full of food. Oliver was glowing. They all stopped talking and looked at me.

I set my packages down on the small bar against the wall. Oliver saved me a seat next to him, he filled my plate with food and I kissed his cheek.

They shared stories of Oliver's childhood. His mother told one as well.

"I remember when Oliver was just a child, he came home from school. He was so hurt about a boy rejecting his Valentine. My precious boy." His father laughed and held up his cup.

"Happy birthday, my son. May you have thousands more." I choked on my wine.

And looked at him.

.
After Oliver ate his cake.
His family was leaving. Once they did I gave olive the gigantic packages.

He opened the first one. The slippers.

His eyes lit up.

That night after I carried everything to our room and set up his desk. I put the record player on the left corner and the type writer in the center. I saved to pearl necklace.

As he was testing the keys of the route writer, I kissed his shoulder.
"I almost forgot." I draped the necklace in front of his neck and latched it. His eyes welled with tears and he turned to me.

He hugged me tight.

"You're too good to me. You treat me like an absolute Prince." I picked him up and carried him to our bed. We layed there staring up at the huge window above out bed. Counting the stars.

Telling him the constellation patterns and stories until he finally gave into sleep.

Hell is real, I kissed him.Where stories live. Discover now
