Fallen Comrades

A/N: I'M PISSED BECAUSE WATTPAD DIDN'T SAVE 800 WORDS OF HARD WORK LIKE 6 TIMES

"Oh my God, Eren!"

~Lëvï's PÖV~

I blinked.

Once, twice.

The sight in front of me still didn't go away.

I wished I had never seen it as I felt my heart clench and my stomach churn at the horrifying sight before my eyes.

~Ërën's PÖV~

The sky was pure and blue. Not a single cloud skimmed the horizon.

Then I remembered:

This was simply a dream.

The sun beat down heavily on my shoulders and I was, therefore, pleasantly warm.

My toes curled happily around the soft blades of grass and I giggled while twirling round in circles.

I threw my head back and laughed openly. With all the exhaustion and hardship I'd lived through in the real world, it felt amazing to be allowed to just let it go for once.

(Don't kill me for using a Frozen reference plz)

I kept on spinning crazily until a head of raven hair caught my eyes and made me stop suddenly.

It was Levi.

"Copor-" I was cut off by him placing a cool, gentle finger on my lips.

"No. That isn't my name. Levi. I want you to call me that. I want to hear it roll off your tongue." His usual bored frown was carelessly painted on his face; it didn't have any meaning behind it. His uniform was perfectly worn, as always, and his hair was neatly combed. I locked my eyes firmly on the grass beneath his shiny boots.

"L-Levi..." I slowly, unsurely, tested out the unfamiliar name on my lips. It was like rich honey: sweet and oozing down my throat. I flickered my eyes back up to his face and nearly gasped.
He was smiling.

A small smile touched his lips and he looked... Adorable.

It was barely there. But it was still real.

Well, as real as something can be inside a dream.

It was the first time I'd ever seen him smile and I immediately wished that he did it more often.

The sweet smile on his porcelain skin made his eyes look clearer, more defined, than I had ever seen them.

They were no longer a block of dull steel, but a raging storm of new and undiscovered emotions.

He looked so perfect.

I reached out a shaky hand towards him. He mirrored my actions, stretching his arm out, unhesitant, and reaching for mine.

Everything around us went completely still for a short, wonderful moment; the grass stopped quivering in the summery breeze - which dissolved into still air - and the breaths Levi and I took in eventually synchronized and slowed to a stop.

And then a sharp, unbearable burn ignited in my arm.

I twitched violently, shying away from the new feeling, but it only grew. The more I moved, the less clear the scene around me became. Levi's face stopped smiling and his arm snapped back to his side. "Monster..." He whispered.

I shook, screeching pain taking over my actions and thoughts. I yelled curses and they echoed around me, as though not properly being registered by my own ears and mouth, then collapsed in a ball on the hard ground. My eyes were squeezed closed but I could tell the landscape around me was rapidly changing.

I could feel my body gradually going numb but the burning sensation remained. I painfully stood up and, with much effort, opened my eyes.

This miracle of a dream had just turned into a mortifying nightmare.

I was on fire. Completely engulfed in a forest of flames. The sky was a blood red and a foreboding black sun hovered up high. I could see the faces of lost comrades at the edges of my vision: Marco, Mina, Thomas, Oluo, Gunther...

And my Mom.

I screamed and sobbed loudly, my tears falling from my cheeks and evaporating in the flames. I cried for my mother and for my pain. The memories came flooding back:

The Colossal Titan

The Armoured Titan

Shiganshina

The Titan that killed my mom

Trost

The Female Titan...

I was enraged that my own mind would betray me with these frightening thoughts and I didn't even notice when the edges on the firm ground I was stood on began crumbling and falling into a black void below. I only reacted when I tumbled into a pit of darkness, and my mouth was stripped of its ability to speak.

~Lëvï's PÖV~

I was utterly shocked and Hanji had to give me a hesitant push towards the boy. He was bleeding from his arms and legs, his clothing was torn and bathed in blood and his face was screwed up in pain.

His screams, thickened with pain, were deafening, still, and I quickly pulled myself together and strode shakily over to the bed. Hanji rushed to Petra and carried her bridal-style out of the room, slamming the door behind her.

Eren was continuing to sob while tossing and turning in place so I kneeled on the bed next to him and pulled him against my chest, wrapping my arms tightly around him. He struggled madly, attempting to get out of my grip, but I held his arms safely out of the way with my blood-soaked tail.

It had been hard work, but I finally got the brunette to calm down a little. His body had been bleeding ferociously, but now it was only a trickle from the worst of the injuries. I was amazed that they weren't healing of their own accord, as usual. I sat against the wooden headboard of the narrow bed with Eren curled up, resting peacefully in my lap.

It reminded me of the night before, when I had slept I his lap.

His breathing was jerky and uneven but I stroked his messy hair soothingly to help return it to normal.

This is so unlike me, I thought, I mean, why the hell do I feel that I have to help the brat like this?

Tch, probably all that steam.

I shifted Eren's warm weight on my thighs slightly, making him stir and shift himself.

I let out a "Tch" and nearly fell off the bed when Hanji exploded through the door.

I officially hate wattpad.

I did this chapter with twice the amount of words around 5 times and it decided NOT TO SAVE.

If it hadn't been for a meteor shower last night, I would've been in a horrible mood and so this chapter would've been A LOT later.
