“Whispers of Hope”
Chapter 11(Marissa)
Eyes closed, deep breaths, I repeated to myself. My center of gravity was slowly returning and I so did not have paws instead of feet. I also do not have a tail and I most definitely am not covered in white fur. Nope, not me, Marissa May Combs.
“Doll face” Zach’s voice rudely interrupted my thoughts, “Um, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, yea, you do have paws, you do have a rather sexy tail if I say so myself and you are covered in the most beautiful white fur that I have ever seen.” he replied while dragging his belly sensually over my back.
A small grumble of appreciation developed from somewhere deep in my chest. Whatever he was doing to me felt wonderful like a slow burning fire being built up steadily into a wild frenzy. And his smell, dang. He smelled of musky pines and it was driving me crazy. The smell that he had going on should be bottled and sold, sold as an aphrodisiac for desperate women. He could make millions.
“My scent is calling to you Missy and only you because I’m your mate.” he said while licking at the back of my ear causing me to shudder.
How is he doing that? The conversation happening in my head was weird and almost dream like. And dang, whatever he keeps doing to me feels so good. What is wrong with me?
I shook my head trying to make some kind of semblance of what the hell was going on.
Zach had said forever. He said mates. He said that we were wolves. This was all just too much for me to take in at once. I suddenly realized that I was way over my head with this new revelation.
Seriously, werewolves. Nahh, this can‘t be real. I have got to be dreaming. Yea, that’s it. All one big crappy dream and I’m going to wake up at any minute, all snuggled up in my bed cuddling with my favorite bunky bunny. Yep. Just one bad dream, I told myslef.
A grunt came from above me along with another wave of pleasure as Zach sinuously rubbed himself across my back.
“The only thing that you will be cuddling up with tonight is me” his voice sounded very coolly in my head again. “And babe, I promise you this isn’t a dream. Its real and you’re a wolf, like me.” he said in a tone that brooked no further arguments.
I could feel the panic welling up within me. The urge to run was strong, but the giant wolf covering me made that nearly impossible. I tried to buck him off once again and that earned me a loud growl from above.
“Be still” the command sounded loudly in my head “or you will get much more than you bargained for Missy” he stated firmly.
I stilled at those words as I felt his lower region press against me, obviously swollen.
“Better” the word entered my thoughts just before Zach licked at my shoulder where he had previously bitten me. A flood of warmth filled my body and floated straight to my center.
Without thinking I found my own wolf self instinctively pushing back up against Zach and enjoying every second of it. Two wolf bodies brushing against each other in the middle of the woods. I’ve lost my mind, damn it.
Panic was starting to recede as my common sense slowly returned to me. My hesitant feelings slowly being replaced with a raw anger. I went to express my wants aloud but instead of my normal voice, a sound that resembled something of a weird combination between a half bark and a whine escaped my lips. This is freaking annoying.“Will you please remove your lard but off of me” I snarled back into his head using our newly discovered telepathic link.
