Chapter 5: Vex

After we got to the mall we looked around for Cici. We couldn't find her, or anyone for that matter.

"Where is everyone? The shop owners should be closing up right now... do you think they finished early?" I asked while I looked at Haru, waiting for his opinion.

"No, I doubt that's what it is." He said while walking forward, looking straight ahead. "But I think I know what's happening."

"Well... what is it?" I followed behind him and I waited to be answered... but he ignored me and sat down on a table in the food court. As I sat down next to him, he sighed.

"Umm, hello? What is it?" I asked for the second time.

"If I told you, you wouldn't believe me." He looked like he was waiting for someone while he said that.

All of a sudden, a familiar voice rang throughout the food court. "Greetings and Salutations BITCHES."

I jumped up from my seat and looked around, scanning the whole mall up and down. " Wh-Who said that?" Then I realised what the voice sounded like, the woman from my dream.

"Oh? You don't know who I am? Well, I'm ashamed really. I thought I was more popular than that." The voice laughed as I saw a large purple circle form on the ground, next to where Haru was sitting. I saw a tall, skinny woman emerge from the circle, looking similar to Haru. She had black hair and brown eyes but she did not look human. She had ears and a tail that were similar to a fox.

Sorry... did I say tail? I meant tails, nine of them.

"Vex, leave us alone." Haru said, menacingly.

"But I just showed up... where's the fun in that? And after all of that trouble of having to take that little human's life away... You're just going to make her death all be in vain? You're so mean Haru." Vex laughed after she said that.

"Vex... Who the hell did you kill." He got up quickly and angrily looked at her.

"Hm? Oh so NOW you're interested. Let me give you a hint." She then transformed into a woman with brown hair and glasses. "Today, class we will be learning on why Haru is A LITTLE BITCH AND WHY HE WON'T DO WHAT HE'S TOLD!"

Mrs. Jules...

Haru clenched his fist and showed his teeth.

She transformed back into her regular form and laughed quietly. "Hehehe, Haru, I didn't come here to start a fight." She looked like she was sorry after she said that... she looked innocent. But that face quickly turned into an evil grin. "I came here to start a war. You have not been doing what I have told you and instead, have been DISTRACTED by this ONE BOY. I asked you not to fuck this up Haru but LOOK WHAT YOU'RE DOING NOW. All I ask is you follow ONE SUUUUUUUPER simple task but you still manage to fuck it up. If you don't do this simple task in one month then... I guess I'll have to take whatever is distracting you." She glares at me like she was wanting more than to kill me... she looked like she wanted to erase my existence all together.

"If you lay a single finger on Kai I SWEAR I will make you regret it." He looked at me after he said that. 

"Kai, don't look." I didn't know why he said that, or what was going on, but I knew I had to trust him.

I covered my eyes, as I heard Haru scream in pain. I wanted to look, and I was about to, but then I felt a pair of hands keep my arm in place.

"Trust me, you don't want to see this." I heard Cici's voice as she positioned my arm back, covering both of my eyes completely.

I heard clanging, yelling, screams and multiple insults coming from both sides. but eventually everything seemed to calm down.

"Hehe... Haru, you might have won this fight, but I WILL come for the distraction."

I heard sounds that I couldnt describe if I tried to, then Haru started to breathe heavily. I could tell that, whatever he did, it was exhausting and painful.

As Cici lifted my arm so that I could see, everything was normal again. 

Vex was gone.

"Haru" I said, in disbelief of what happened.

"Y-Yeah?" he said while coughing.

"There is a LOT of things you need to tell me."
