"Kai... how do you get me into the messes... I told you not to trust Haru. Never trust anyone except me. I'm the only one that understands you... and you're the only one that understands me. Look, I know I can only talk to you through your dreams right now, but we WILL meet in person, I promise."
I heard this girl speak to me while I was unconscious but what did she mean? She was definitely someone I didn't recognise but her voice still seemed... familiar. But why doesn't she want me to trust Haru? I know he took my memories away... but it was just to try to protect me, right?
Wait, my memories... MY MEMORIES ARE STILL HERE!?
I woke up in sweat and scanned my surroundings, it was just my bedroom. I dashed up from my bed to get to the door. Before I could open it I heard Haru."Good morning, you sleep fine?" I opened the door and stomped over next to Haru.
"Why yes Haru... I slept fine... Oh other than the fact that I remembered you trying to TAKE MY MEMORIES!!!" I yelled at him.
"Wh-what? But how the hell do you remember that? I...I'm sorry... I just want to protect you..." I saw him looking extremely disappointed in himself. He went over to the living room and sat down on the couch.
I heard a sigh come from the TV. "So... he remembers. Well that's good news... I guess. Haru, you're giving the explanation on EVERYTHING that happened while Kai here was taking a nap." Cici came out of the TV screen after saying that. "But he's already pissed off with me enough now, how am I going to tell him this without our apartment exploding?" Haru questioned her. "I dunno, but it's not my problem so you're gonna have to figure it out yourself. See ya Kai, and make sure that this little shit here answers EVERY question you have." Cici said while pointing to Haru.
She left our apartment and left me and Haru to talk, I sat down next to him and looked at him. I brought my hands over the the back of his head and untied the eyepatch. I saw it fall to the couch as his golden eye lost it's glow. I couldn't hold back my tears anymore. I threw myself at him and hugged him as tightly as I could. "Why did you... lie to me for so long? Why did you try to erase my memories? What's going on..."
He hugged me back softly, but firmly and began to answer my questions. "I wanted to protect you... I never told you that I was a demon because I thought you would be scared of me... I erased your memories because I didn't want you trying to tag along to do what I needed to do. And the last question... it's gonna be a long story so listen up." I stopped hugging Haru and looked at him, ready to listen.
"Well... while you were asleep, Cici and I went to Oblivion Castle to report Vex for trespassing into the human world while in demon form. Guess who we bumped into on the way there. Yep. Vex was apparently going to report me as well for entering the human world without performing the task that I needed to do. When I told her I was working on it... she threatened me and said she's going to report me and get me executed unless I don't report her, and I promise to let her take you if I don't get the task done by the end of the month." He looked at me and his eyes started to well up with tears. "I...I'm sorry... I didn't have any other choice..."
"It's ok Haru, none of this is your fault. We just need to do the thing that she said and we can all be happy and pretend like nothing ever happened...right?" I tried to comfort him, but he still looked miserable.
"Once you know what the task is...you'll see why I tried to not get you involved..."
