Chapter 3: Confession

We headed into the tall building and rode the elevator up to the second floor. "I'm really tired, when we get up to our apartment I think I'm just gonna go to bed." I said sleepily.

"Aww you're not even gonna play a video game today? I thought they were your favorite." He says looking at me...oddly concerned.

"Haru...with that logic you would prefer to-" Before I could finish my sentence my phone buzzes again and I look up to see it's Cici texting me.

I texted Cici back while walking through the hall and heading into our home's living room.

Cici: Tell him tonight.

Kai: Yeah Cici I'll just go up to him and be like I'M GAY I LIKE YOU LET'S HAVE SEX.

Cici: Better than not telling him ever.

Kai: You know what. Fine. I'll tell him.

Cici: If you don't then you owe me 50 bucks.

Kai: What?!?!

Cici: Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Kai: Whatever... how do you want me to put it.

Cici: By raping him.

Kai: This is why I never get advice from you.

Cici: Love you too babe

Kai: Ew

Cici: Grow a pair

I close my phone and shake my head. I turn to Haru and asked him "Haru... what do you think of me?"

"You need to be more specific." Haru turned away from me and started to make his bed.

"Like... you always defend me from assholes but....why?" I start to blush.

"Well... I just did what anyone else would do." He pulled the covers onto his bed.

"Is that it?... That's all you see me as? Someone to protect?" I look down with a saddened look.

"Of course that's not it, hell if you were a girl I'd hit that." He says jokingly

I begin to blush and I slowly back away from Haru. He puts a pillow on his bed then looks at me.

"Um... it's a joke..." He says looking concerned.

"I...I know b..but..." I begin to tear up.

"Wait... why are you crying?" He asks me with a worried look. "If it's something I said, I'm sorry..."

"H..Haru.....do you like me." I ask with a single tear sliding down my cheek.

"What? Of course I do, you're my best friend." He says while walking towards me. He leads me to my own bed and after I sit down, he sits down next to me. "Kai... if there's something you need to tell me... I won't ever think less of you." He begins to blush as well, something I've never seen him do.

I take a deep breath. "Haru... do you like me... more than a friend?"

"Kai... I knew this was coming..." He says while putting his arm around me and gently pulls me in so that my head is on his shoulder. "To be honest.... well.... yeah." He looks down at my head, resting on his shoulder. "I do like you." He smiles and laughs.

"You...you like me..." I said with happiness. I smile, close my eyes and yawn.

"Come on, it's been a long day for you." He picks me up and gently puts me in my bed and pulls my blankets over me. He sits next to my bed and looks at my sleeping face.

"I love you." He kisses my forehead then walks back to his bed, eventually falling asleep.
