𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐒 with Colby, her curls bouncing as she walked and Colby practically glued to her side, still grinning from whatever private joke they had been laughing at upstairs. The living room was already alive with chaos.

Hartley was sitting on the floor, hands on her knees, facing Vic and Eva like she was hosting the world's most intense competition.

"I spy with my little eye, something that starts with a T," Hartley announced dramatically.

Vic didn't even look up from the tablet he was pretending to fix. "Hartley, for the last time, we are not playing this silly game with you."

"It's a table, right? It has to be the table!" Aveline guessed as she and Colby stepped fully into the room.

Hartley threw her hands up. "You tell me or I swear I will burn this house to the ground!"

Eva's eyes widened. "Hartley, take deep breaths. It's 'I Spy,' not the Olympics."

"Sorry," Hartley muttered. "I get a little competitive."

"A little?" Colby whispered to Aveline, who covered her smile.

Before Hartley could start another round, Colby practically bounced where he stood. "I can't wait for tomorrow!"

Vic immediately perked up like he had solved something major. "Oh! Happy birthday, Colby!"

Colby blinked. "Tomorrow's not my birthday."

Vic waved his hand dismissively. "You say that every time. One of these days it will be your birthday, and oh boy, won't you feel silly."

Aveline shook her head, laughing softly under her breath.

Colby continued, "Tomorrow is when the newest limited edition Sky Gordan sneakers drop online!"

Eva nodded sympathetically. "Good luck. I've been online for the last five drops and never got any."

"You're into Sky Gordans too?" Colby asked, eyes lighting up.

Hartley nodded. "Yeah, but they sell out instantly. It's impossible."

Colby puffed his chest out. "Well, luckily, I can check out really fast thanks to my super speed. Look!"

Before anyone could blink, he zipped away and back, holding his phone proudly. "Boom. I just left sixty-eight nasty online reviews for restaurants I've never even been to."

Aveline slapped a hand over her mouth to stop herself from laughing. "Why do you even—never mind."

Hartley leaned in, suddenly excited. "Colby, with speed like that, we'll definitely beat those bots!"
