Six in the morning came much quicker than Becca expected. Her fist hit the Hello Kitty teacup alarm again for the second time that morning. 6:05 AM. She wrapped her arms around the stuffed Hello Kitty, snuggling back into her pillow. Her room was freezing, but she knew it was her own fault for sleeping with a fan on in the middle of winter. Her blue eyes closed again, but then something started to buzz under her pillow. Pulling her phone out, she allowed her eyes to adjust to the phone’s bright light. “Stalking 1D with Bree!!!!!!” A growl escaped her as she sat up in bed. Fucking Bree and her puppy face. It was entirely too early to wake up without the smell of coffee invading the small apartment. The boys were just five blocks away from them. That was Bree’s sales pitch. The bribe was to go to Starbucks for a Venti whatever on Bree.

Of course Becca bought it. Her addiction to caffeine was one for the record book. No one loved it more than she did so, whenever someone offered, she didn’t say no. She stretched before skulking off to hers and Bree’s shared bathroom. Strewn about the bathroom were some of Bree’s things, but the blonde was nowhere to be seen. After returning to her room, Becca turned on her TV.

“It’s a very chilly day in the city so remember your coats as you venture out this morning!” the weather girl chirped cheerfully.

Becca nodded at no one as she rummaged through her closet. What did someone wear to possibly meet your favorite band from the UK that not many people actually knew you liked? A mystery to Becca but she solved it by settling for jeans, a sweatshirt, and her leather jacket. She left her room, meeting Bree as she did so. She started to smile but stopped as she looked at Bree. Dressed in a baggy sweatshirt and leggings, Bree looked like she might throw up. Becca laughed. “Karma. You have fun with that.”

Bree frowned. “What do you mean?”

Becca grabbed her bag. “You’ll see!”

Bree frowned, not liking that answer at all. The two girls linked arms before leaving the building. Bree shivered as they headed in the direction of the hotel. Despite the six year age difference, they were best friends. They met through a mentoring program. Becca volunteered nearly every year since she was a sophomore in college. The last time Becca volunteered she got stuck with a girl who just wanted to party even though she wasn’t old enough. The girl was a nightmare so Becca took the summer off. Bree hadn’t been a nightmare, even though Becca treated her like she might be for their first fifteen minutes of knowing each other. Then Becca happened to be humming a song by the boys. Bree recognized it and they were friends ever since. Bree started college early. She was missing her last semester of high school to attend NYU. Her parents asked her former mentor to take her in because they worried about her bring in the dorms. Becca agreed, giving Bree the spare room.

Niall stepped out of the hotel behind their bodyguard. The rest of the boys and Paul followed close behind. A group of chilled squealing girls woke him up fully as they shoved things in his face to sign. As he reached out for a notebook, a gust of wind reminded him just how cold it was in New York. He shivered, signing the notebook carefully. He looked up at the girl with a grin. “You guys are insane!” He meant it nicely. Poor girls were dying of hypothermia to meet him. Stepping to the side, he signed a poster. “How long ya been out here?”

The small brunette answered, teeth chattering. “Two hours.”

“The sun want even up yet!” Harry laughed, taking a moment to blow warm air into his cupped hands.

Paul nudged them as they finished up signing. They took one last picture with a couple girls before heading out again. The group crossed the street quickly, happy the traffic wasn’t too crazy yet.
