Becca hopped up the steps to Harry’s flat. She raised her hand to knock, but the door opened before she got the chance. Bree smiled briefly before pulling Becca inside. They were getting ready for Liam’s birthday together. The blonde was freaking out because it was the first time she and Harry would be going to something sort of big together. The girls weren’t going to get ready together until Bree sent her distress text to Becca. “Help” was all it read. Bree never had a problem dressing herself. Becca figured the younger girl needed more of a pep talk.
“Alright. So what do we know about tonight?” Becca asked as she rummaged through Bree’s things.
Bree shrugged. “Quick dinner. Then club for the party.”
“And that’s it?” Becca asked, but she had already lost Bree.
“Fuuuuuuuuuuuck,” Bree drew out the word in a groan. “I’m going to look like I’m wearing a potato sack no matter what.”
Bree took the girl by the shoulders. “Brenna! Stop it! What’s this about?”
The younger girl sat on the bed. “Becca, this is the first time people are gonna see me with him! I can’t look like a slouch!” Her voice cracked. “He might…he might break up with me if we don’t look right.”
“And I’ll shove a drumstick into the tip of his dick,” Becca said.
Bree screwed her face up in disgust. “Do you have to be so graphic?”
“Gets the point across,” Becca shrugged. She sat next to Bree. “Look. Harry isn’t an asshole and he’s not an idiot. He loves you so he’s not gonna just throw you away.”
Bree looked over at the redhead. “I just…I don’t deserve him, Becca. He’s so sweet and perfect and beautiful. I’m just not.”
“Yes you are, Breezy. You’re all of those things and more. If he doesn’t love you for that, then he loves you for being everything else that you are, and that includes being a super cool girl.”
Bree snorted. “Stop.”
“Nope. You’re brilliant, and if he doesn’t want that, more for me.”
Bree laughed, and Becca smiled to herself. Getting Bree to smile was all Becca needed to do. She got up and started getting ready. The boys would be there in about an hour.
Becca stood back up and dug through the closet. “I think Harry is trying to impress you tonight.”
“What? No. This is for Liam. Not for me,” Bree laughed.
“Well I know that, but he wants to…I dunno. He wants to keep you I guess,” Becca said, turning to watch a smile grow slowly on Bree’s face. “I’m thinking a skirt, a cute top, and maybe some ballet flats for you.”
“So tell me what it’s like staying with Niall? You don’t talk much about it,” Bree grinned while she nudged Becca out of the closet and started looking for something that might fit Becca’s description. “It’s probably not as nice as Harry, but you know, I’m not there to make the decor better.”
Becca shrugged as she moved on to digging through Bree’s jewelry. She turned to look at what Bree pulled from the closet. The girl was looking at pair of floral jeans. Becca shook her head. She didn’t quite understand that trend, but she wasn’t going to knock Bree for it. “Those are cute.”
“You think so?” Bree tilted her head to the side. “I was thinking that pink sweater I wore on the plane. A pair of Tom’s. Simple. They did say it was kind of a casual thing. The dinner at least. I don’t really know about the club.” She grabbed the sweater and started for the bathroom. “You didn’t answer me about Niall. How has it been?”
