A month passed before I was finally released from the hospital. Even though I gained most of my strength back Eisuke insisted I stay at home on the Island for two more weeks.
I didn't agree with it, but I gave up arguing with him on it. He always got his way regardless of the circumstances.
It was a beautiful Wednesday morning. I awoke alone in the wrinkled sheets. I didn't hear any voices or footsteps so I knew Eisuke had gone to work. I had the whole day to myself so I decided to make the most of it.
I planned an elegant dinner for us with a delicious dessert and some cocktails for tonight. I was writing down ideas for the meal in the kitchen when the home phone rang.
That's odd. It never rings when Eisuke isn't here.
I picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Hello is Hana Koizumi there?"
"May I ask who's calling?"
"My name is Kenshi Inagaki, I had a close friend awhile back by the name of Hana Koizumi. I was wondering if this is the residence she lives in?"
The name sounded familiar but I wasn't positive.
"I'm sorry she isn't in."
"Okay, thank you for your time."
"No problem." I hung up.
Kenshi.. Why does that name sound so familiar? Maybe someone I went to school with? Hm oh well, must not be that important if I don't remember.
I resumed my dinner plans and then brewed my favorite tea, Earl Grey. I decided to go for a swim outside after I finished my tea. I didn't want to waste this perfect weather inside.
The hours ticked by while I was walking along the island. It hit 4:30 and I scrambled to get back home to freshen up and make our dinner.
6:30
He should be home by now. Just as I thought that I heard a door open.
Perfect timing, I had finishing plating our dishes about 10 minutes ago with the cocktails next to them with red candles lighting the gorgeous atmosphere.
"What's this?" I heard Eisuke say.
"Well, for taking care of me while this has all happened. I really admire how much you care about me, so I planned a nice dinner for us complete with drinks by yours truly and dessert if we aren't too stuffed after." I smiled folding my hands in front of me.
"Wow this looks really good. I hope you didn't work too hard though, Luke said he still wants you to be gentle on your body."
"Oh please, I'm fine! I can at least move my shoulder now, I couldn't do that a month ago."
"I know, I just still worry."
"Eisuke! I assure you I'm okay. Let's eat before it gets cold."
"Okay."
We sat down indulging in the fine flavors exchanging "Mmms" and laughing.
"This is really good Hana. Your food always tastes amazing."
"I will admit this dish is probably one of my best creations."
He chuckled setting down his fork.
"You're getting more confident, I'm proud."
"Well my boyfriend is Eisuke Ichominya." I laughed as I set down my silverware after him.
He looked like he wanted to say something, but the phone suddenly rang.
"I'll get it." I said.
I got up grabbing our plates taking them to the kitchen grabbing the phone on my way there.
"Hello?" I said taking the dessert out of the fridge and setting it on the table.
"Koi Fish! It's so nice to hear your voice." A cheerful man spoke on the other line. That voice was too easy to distinguish. I could never forget it.
"Hiro! Oh my gosh what has it been 3 years?"
"Only 2 silly."
"Oh, well it seems much longer than that."
"We wanted to see if you would come and visit us at LRN? We know you're in Dubai, Takuto tracked the call when Kenshi called."
Takuto.. I hadn't seen him since what happened.
"I would love to."
"Perfect! We have the upstairs room set up for you, Riki can go without his bed for 4 nights."
"Alright, well I can't wait to see everyone, see you soon."
"Bye Koi Fish." Before he hung up I heard another man yell "I never said she could take my bedroom!"
"Who was that?" Eisuke said looking concerned with a slight possessive tone in his voice.
"Some guys I knew back in High school. They taught me a little bit before I became apart of the Fire Crows. Most of our communication stopped though once I turned 19. I haven't seen them in 2 years since I was 22."
"You're planning on visiting them?"
"Yes, sorry. It's a sudden trip but I'll only be gone for 4 days."
"I'll go with you to the airport through security this time. Just to make sure Hishi doesn't show up or try talking to you."
"I faked my death. I'm sure he won't bother a 'random' girl that is 'possibly' associated with you anyway."
"Maybe." He stroked my hair.
"I miss your old hair color."
"I know. But I had to make certain decisions to really cover up everything."
"I know, I just miss the real you."
His words warmed my heart and saddened me at the same time. I wasn't at all who I wanted to be now, but as long as I taught my brother a lesson after this I knew I would be happy regardless.
"I want you to know no matter how many times I have to change my look I will always love you the same and have the same personality that you love." I said leaning into him.
He smiled putting me on his lap softly wrapping his hands around my waist.
"I love you Hana."
"I love you too."
The rest of our night consisted of just simple cuddling. He didn't want to accidentally hurt me during any sexual encounters so he promised we wouldn't do anything related to it until I was completely back to normal.
I appreciated his concern. I didn't have any drive for sex at the moment anyway. I was too focused on having to deal with my old high school friends and past loves now.
