Chapter 23: A New Life

The doctors wouldn't let anyone not even me in Eisuke's room to see him. Luke had called the night before saying he would try to make it down here sometime today to figure out what was wrong. He honestly was the only one I trusted to take care of him.

The media knew about Eisuke's hospitalization almost instantly. But reporters and cameras weren't permitted in the lobby where we were all at. So I could rest easy knowing they wouldn't bother any of us.

Luke didn't come until around 6 PM later that day and didn't find out what was wrong until an hour after that.

"Hana come with me." Luke took me to Eisuke's room.

"Now, I found the cause of what is wrong with him and I'm afraid it isn't very good."

I felt a lump in my throat once he said this. I put my hand over my mouth trying not to burst in tears all over again.

"He's awake, but I suggest you spend these minutes wisely." Luke said opening the door and I nodded walking in.

I ran to Eisuke's side in the hospital bed holding his hand tight as he looked up at me. He looked so pale and weak, I couldn't fathom to see him in such a state.

"Hana, I'm sorry." He said brushing his other hand against my cheek.

"This isn't your fault."

"You wouldn't be so worried if I had told you sooner. I've had a small heart problem since I was around 6. It hasn't affected me much until the past couple days. I figured it was nothing. I should've told you."

"It's okay.. I actually.. need to tell you something too." I said hesitantly.

"What is it?"

"I'm... pregnant." A line of silence settled for a couple minutes before he said anything.

I had been keeping this from him for a month. I had been feeling off the past few weeks and decided it'd be best to just check. Sure enough that's what it was. It just couldn't have been worse timing.

"Really?"

"Yes." I smiled at him.

"Oh my god Hana." He pulled my hand closer to him and he hugged me as tight as he could.

"You have to get better now that you can see him." I said pushing some of his hair out of his face.

"Hana.. As much as I'd like to persuade you with lies, I'm afraid that may not be possible." My heart throbbed as he said this. "But don't get upset. I don't have much time left. I know you are close with Takuto, that you used to date, and you are in love with him. As for my sake I want you to go with him and raise our baby. I had the pleasure of meeting the man that would take my place. I say with upmost confidence that I accept him to trust he will protect you, our family, and make you happy. Along with that, I leave the business in our child's hands once they are of age to handle it. I have someone that will take over the business temporarily from now on until that time comes. I'm giving you your share of money as well."

"Eisuke.. I.." I was lost for words. The man that said he would never give me up to any other was saying such a statement.

"I know it's a lot to take in. But I know this is the right thing. I love you."

He gave me a soft kiss holding me tight for a few more minutes.

"I want you to go back to Tokyo. Get your stuff ready today and leave tomorrow. I don't want you to see me when I'm weaker than I already appear."

"I don't want to leave so soon."

"Listen, this is the best way." He said with such a quiet tone it was easy to be persuaded by.

"Okay."

He gave me one last long kiss. Before I left he handed me a piece of paper to not read until I was notified of his passing.

I felt guilty agreeing to leave him all alone here like that. But he said in my best interest to do so. I walked into the lobby where everyone was sitting grabbing Takuto's hand walking outside.

I looked over at a puzzled Takuto and explained as I called a cab. He was stunned by what my boyfriend said especially about Eisuke wanting him to help raise our child. I suddenly felt worried knowing he may feel overwhelmed and not want to do it.

"I'll be with you."

"Really?"

"Of course, I love you." Takuto wrapped his hands around my waist.

My new life was beginning. I was going back home to Tokyo. I felt my life was getting back on track. I just couldn't believe everything turned out in this form of events.

I was bought by 5 men, I fell in love with one of them. He gave me everything and now I'm bearing his child with another man.

I don't know what the future holds, but I know I have to do everything to raise our child like Eisuke would. I had to at least do that for him.
