Come on, Come back

Come on, Come back.
We're broken
And haunted
When you're not here.

Can't you see
The tears that roll from his eyes?
Can't you see
Me as I turn to hide mine?

And you don't see
How he cries inside.
He's had more time
To perfect how he hides

His feelings from you.
He does it to protect us.
To show that he's strong.
He's wonderful like that.

I feel tears welling in my eyes
As I write these words down.
Why can't you see
That you tore my heart out.

Come on, Come back.
I can't live without you.
Come on, Come back.
We won't be crying forever.

So this poem's name actually comes from a war poem written by Stevie Smith. I recommend you reading that poem as it's a beautiful poem.
