Madison went into the new, black Mercedes and politely closed the door. Then she came face to face with a delicious pair of emerald eyes. Drake Peterson, the most popular basketball player from the Brooklyn gymnasium was hers, and only hers.
She thought that she would never find someone who would love her, someone who she could spend the rest of her life with, because she had gotten pregnant and left Brooklyn to abort and think about her bad behavior. This careless, seventeen year-old could have had a baby who had now lived one year. Drake didn't know any of her secrets, and there's a lot. When she first met him on the airport station, he looked very lost, so she came near him and introduced herself. She ordered him a lift home.
Only three days and the third grade begins. She's going to be in class with her old friends. They know all of her secrets, because they were on the spot where everything happened. The guy who made her a child is in a jail even though he didn't deserve that. Only she and her friends knew why. Madison did that to him. She put him in a jail. What If her old friends tell Drake about The Heartbreaking Game she made? What If he hears something weird and miserable about her? She was so worried, and with good reason. She didn't have any friends anymore and she didn't need to lose Drake too. Her friends won't forgive her. She knew that for sure.
She came back from her deep thoughts to Drake.
He continued brightly watching her. She knew that he was the real one. And, yes, she knew that she wasn't a virgin, but who cared? It was her life, wasn't it? She put her hand on his cheek slowly. Drake was enjoying feeling Madison's soft fingerprints on his cheek.
He's a virgin. And he's mine. She smiled viciously.
Mostly, people looked at her like she was some kind of a spoiled child who got whatever she wanted, only because she was living with her wealthy father, Derek Rogers. Her father dedicated his whole life to Madison, after her mother died before Madison's fifteen year. Amelia Rogers was a proud woman, a successful doctor, and she hadn't been there for her daughter. She hadn't talked with Madison about her first kiss, or her love problems or the problems at school. She hadn't made her daughter birthday parties, celebrated, or gone shopping with her. Madison knew her mother had died because of tuberculosis. That's what would her father said every time she asked him. A lot of people believed that if Amelia were still alive, Madison would act differently. She would be better and and more polite. Maybe she wouldn't have gotten pregnant at the age of sixteen.
Drake started coming closer while he was staring at her dark eyes like he was diving into the Pacific. When they put their foreheads together, Madison felt her heart is pumping like It wanted to jump out of her chest.Drake caressed her face, while her hands still stayed on his. Then their lips joined together gently and Madison became fulfilled with a strange heat which made her continue with stringing hard, passionately kisses. She felt unknown electricity buzzing through her. After two minutes of incessant kissing, Madison slid her finger through her blonde, wavy hair and looked at Drake with a perilously seductive glance. Then she turned to the back seat and started taking her T-shirt off. Drake started doing the same thing, exposing his muscled body. He came to the back seat and lay on top of Madison. Then they started kissing again. Madison put her hand on his hot chest and then started pulling her fingers down. Drake begins unbuttoning Madison's brassiere when her phone started ringing.
Damn it! She was pissed off. We were so close.
"I'm sorry, but I need to answer this." Madison made a sad face.
Drake got off of her and sat, with his hands crossed on his chest. Madison rolled her brown eyes and ticked the green, small headphone on her smartphone.
"Dad? What's happening?" She asked nervously. "You're interrupting. I was doing something very important before you called!"
Silence.
"Do I really need to go... there?" Madison felt guilty. "Fine, all right! I'm coming!"
Great. Good job, Dad.
Madison ended the phone call and started putting her T-shirt back on. She turned her head to Drake and kissed him quickly.
"I don't want to delay this anymore," Drake said softly. His green eyes were so sweet, like he was going to cry at any given moment.
"Drake, you know I love you and I would really like to stay with you now, but I have to go." Madison pulled her fingers into his black, messy hair and hugged him.
"What happened?" Drake asked cautiously.
Well, what happened is that I totally forgot about the meeting I have with my psychologist. Now I have only half an hour to come there!
But she couldn't tell him. She didn't dare to. She was afraid that he would leave her If he got to know what had happened last year.
School is starting very soon. I wonder what will be the reaction of the other students when they see me with a new boyfriend.
"I'll call you," she said, avoiding his question.
Madison started opening the back car door when Drake stopped her.
"I love you, Maddie," he murmured.
"I love you too, Drake."
