Chapter Eight: Sticks And Stones

No One's POV-
Kori was just dropped off, and now it was time for Rachel to go home. Rachel desperately didn't want to go home, for a very good reason too. Eventually, they reached Rachel's house and then Dick drove off to his place.

Rachel walked up the path to her front door, dreading what was about to happen. She slowly knocked on the door. The door slowly opened, and there stood Rachel's father.

   "Rachel." Her father said. She could smell the alcohol in his breath. Slowly tears rolled down Rachel's face as she entered the house.

  "Dad, where's mom?" Rachel asked even though she already knew the answer.

He looked at Rachel and gave a glare.

"In the hospital." He answered slowly as he went to go sit on the couch.

"Why?" Rachel asked kneeing that she would regret asking.

She starred into her father's tired and sad eyes. "Rachel. Stop." He demanded.

"You don't have to tell me dad. I already know why." Rachel said harshly.

"I got a phone call a few hours ago. From mom." Rachel said as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Oh yeah?! What did she say?" Rachel's father asked as he walked up to Rachel.

"Stop dad. You've been drinking again.." Said Rachel in a disappointed tone, as she smelled the alcohol coming from his breath.

"So what?" Her father asked.
"You're out of control!! First you beat up mom, now what?! You are a terrible father!!" Rachel stated angrily.

   "YOU LITTLE-" He yelled as he swung his gigantic fist up to Rachel's face, bruising her. This caused Rachel to fall down. She looked up at her father and began to cry.

"Rachel, I'm sorry." He apologized. Rachel couldn't take it! She completely ignored him and ran straight to her room as more tears pilled up in her eyes.

Kori's POV-
I was dropped off at my apartment by Richard, and the only thing that was going through my mind was what Amanda and him were planning to do when they got to his place..

I walked by the doorman, and the last thing I needed right now was another one of his cheesy pick up lines, but perhaps it would happen anyway.

"Babe, what's wrong?" He asked concerned from standing behind his desk.
Ugh! Was it that obvious that I wasn't happy?

"I'm fine, but can we please skip the pick up line tonight?" I asked while walking towards the elevator.
His jaw dropped in shock as I left. I'm usually in good moods, but boy did this Amanda chick ruin that!

I took out my key and unlocked my apartment door. I looked, and saw a passed out Ryan hanging upside down on the sofa, AND a passed out Komi. Pudding cups again...HOW DID THEY EVEN GET PUDDING CUPS IF THEY DIDN'T BUY ANY IN THE FIRST PLACE?!
Ugh!! That was the least of my worries right now.

I don't think that I'll be able to sleep in my bed without thinking about that man who was probably bare ars naked in my sheets, so I guess I'll be sleeping on the floor tonight..OR Ryan's bed!! Yeah! That'll work!

I quickly got changed into my pajamas in my room. Once I was fully changed into my pajamas, I lied in Ryan's bed and pulled over the covers.

I tried closing my eyes and dreaming of happy things, but I couldn't because I couldn't get the words, 'Amanda and I are going back to my place,' from Richard, out of my head!

   What's wrong with me, other than Amanda treating me like crap, there's another reason why I don't like her. She's with Richard.

Just then, my phone began to ring. "What now?!" I asked myself, obviously not in the best mood. I got out of Ryan's bed, picked up my phone and answered.

"Who is it?" I asked. If it's who I think it is, I might throw something!

"Hey, It's Richard."

I stayed silent.

"Can I ask you something Kori?" He asked in a serious tone. I began to feel nervous.
"What.."

"Why were you acting mad at me."
"I wasn't acting mad at you, I was actually mad at you!" I explained.

   "Yeah, but why?" He asked. Ugh!!! I'm feeling like I should ask, but I don't know.. I'll just do it!

   "I actually have a question to ask you too." I said a little on the angry side.

"What is it?"

  Feeling the anger that I was feeling, I bet that you would act the same.
I was a little nervous to ask, I mean, it's really none of my business, but..-I'm going for it.

    "Weren't you in the middle of something with Amanda?" I asked as a smirk appeared on my face.
"Um what?" He asked in a nervous tone. The anger began to take control of me..unfortunately, it wasn't just anger that I was feeling. I was also feeling a little jealous.

  "Richard..you know what I'm talking about.." I said hinting towards what I was actually talking about.

  "NO! For your information, we didn't do that.." He clarified.
"Oh, well I thought.." I said feeling embarrassed.

   "Oh, I see what's going on here! You're jealous." He said in a full of himself tone. My eyes widened in shock, and my heart skipped a beat. I have to respond quickly so he doesn't think that I'm jealous!

"No!! I'm not jealous! I'm not mad because your with Amanda, I'm mad because she was rude to me, and you let her continue to treat me poorly. But do whatever you want do on your date, because I don't care!" I answered as all the negativity poured out. Ugh!! Why did I say that?! I most definitely care what they do on their date!!

   A silence occurred on the phone until he broke it.

"Oh..I thought, well it doesn't matter what I thought. I'm sorry for letting her treat you poorly, and I won't let it happen again. I'll see you tomorrow. Bye.." He said in a soft tone.

  "Bye..." I responded as I hung up.

Crap!! What did I just do?! I really hope he doesn't now consider...

  Agh!! What's wrong with me?!

I guess I'll find out what happens tomorrow, but for right now, all I can do is hope, and hopefully get some sleep.
