Chapter Nine: Past Issues

(Early Morning, 6;50 a.m 🌄)-
As soon as I woke up, my stomach and I immediately didn't get along. My stomach began to ache like torture. I was feeling so nervous for today, and I was really dreading to talk with Richard.. I honestly wish that we could just ignore what happened yesterday, and that everything would be the same as before..but I don't know if it will be the same now..

I took a shower, and picked out a red casual dress, that matches with my hair nicely. I opened the door of my room only to find an angry Komi.

I tied walking past her.
"Um, I needed you yesterday!!! Why weren't you-."

I cut her off.
"-Please..I'm not in the mood." I explained sadly as I began to walk past Komi.

"Kori, You okay?" She asked as she lifted an eyebrow.
"Honestly, I don't know." I replied as I looked to the ground.

I woke Ryan up, and took him to school. He saw that I wasn't in a good mood, and he didn't bother me at all during the car ride.

Once Ryan was dropped off, I had two choices..

Choice #1- Avoid Richard by not attending school.

Choice #2- Go to school and see what happens.

I thought for a second..
Choice number one would make everyone suspicious, while choice number two would make me face the music.

After a lot of thinking, I chose to not go on the suspicious path, and choose option number two.

I entered my first period where I would see Garfield, Victor, Karen, and ..Richard.
They were all sitting next to each other, in the same seats as yesterday.

Garfield and Victor were applauding Dick and patting him on the back, while Karen looked as if she were mad at the three of them. It's not normal for Karen to look that angry. I sat next to her and she then realized I was there.

"Hey, um..what's going on?" I asked nervously.

"I don't know if I should say.." She said in a serious tone. This response made me feel extremely scared.

"Please, tell me." I told her.
"Well, if you say..," she said with a gloomy expression, "Richard slept with a girl last night.." She finally said.
"Amanda." I responded. It accidentally slipped out of my mouth.
"What? Wait, how did you know?" She asked confusedly.
"Oh, I was there when he met her yesterday evening. I assume that she was the one he slept with.." I explained. I began to glare at the fact that he actually slept with her..

Wait, I want to know why was Karen upset about that?

"Why are YOU upset?" I asked curiously.
"You better NOT tell Dick that I'm telling you this." She said in a serious tone. I nodded.

"Okay, well..Dick used to be a player. He literally got a new girl every day! Rachel and I never approved of it! I mean who would, other than those two idiots?!" Karen explained as she pointed to both Garfield and Victor.

She then continued.
"Well, he stopped a few months ago, and we were all very supportive of that, even Gar and Vic were happy he stopped. Now, this looks like a sign, that he wants to go back to his old methods." She stopped, "I'm only telling you this, because I think you deserve to know.." She explained.

"Thank you for telling me." I responded in a serious tone. I then let out a sigh. That's upsetting, that he used to be a player.

   The other periods went by quickly, and I was able to avoid Richard in every class. I think he was trying to avoid me as well.
